I stayed at the ibis in Luxembourg so thought Iâd take a risk and book ibis for Portugal too.
The good:
The location is good, few nice restaurants close by (vegetarian buffet, Japanese and Portuguese near by)
The subway is a few minutes way away, turn left out the hotel, go down the stairs to the Main Street, turn right and you are at the subway. We bought travel cards which were really good value and easy to use (just make sure you validate them)!
The airport is easy to get to on the subway or a taxi cost me 12 euros for two people.
The staff were fantastic, they were friendly, helpful and nothing seemed like anything was too much effort.
The rooms were large, spacious and clean with no issues. No safe but that didnât bother us, nice to have USB chargers incase you forget your adaptor.
Room keeping was good, rooms were always clean and nice new towels every day.
The bed was comfy and no issues with any noise etc.
The bad:
The restaurant on site is poor, food is heated in a microwave (the staff did tell us this, was lovely for them to be honest)
On a Sunday lots of the restaurants are closed so you need to go into the main town (10mins on subway or hour walk)

I always use Ibis, especially when I visit Lisbon. However, this time a smell of wet painting was spread through the ventilation channels. I noticed that there were problems with me while I was sleeping, but the problems (cough and sore throat) raised when I left Lisbon. When I was back in my hometown, I visited a doctor and he diagnosed allergy. I had to stay in bed for two days to calm down with medicaments.

Appointment at IPO hospital very handy and car parking available breakfast was fine lots of option extra bed was a good size single although made room a little cramped would stay again we took ou dog and that was ok

I have been visiting this Hotel since 2008, but the last trip in 2017 was a disappointment as the service and Wifi service were not up to the standard! Hope that the management will act upon these issues because it has a perfect location in the city!

The staff are helpful from start to finish. They kindly expedited the check in, as we were so jet-lagged. They were professional in helping to bring luggage to room. The breakfast buffet with Ibis is a treat, and this location was no exception. The location is a bit of a walk from the metro, but it is right near the buses to get to Sessimbra where a hike to the Moorish Castle was amazing!
