Last month while coming back from Pondicherry we halted at Mahabalipuram and stayed here for 3N/4D.
All pre-planned ....
A peaceful place that gives the enjoyment of strolling along the blue-green waves & silvery sands .... An ideal place to rejuvinate ..... ðð¹
Location : This resort is located on ECR , just beside the coastline overlooking the Bay of Bengal . It's actually on the edge of Devanari village, just about 4 km before the Mahabalipuram town .
Check - in & Check - out : We had a smooth check - in with welcome drink & white flower garlands ..... Excellent reception area with good sitting arrangements.
For check - out, they have a separate area just opposite to reception .... so makes the process easy...
Room : We got a garden facing Deluxe villa on the 1st floor with a big balcony.
Excellent AC room ... huge & clean ... queen size bed , spring mattress and soft linens .... AC worked nicely throughout ....
The room came with all basic amenities , tea/coffee maker, safety locker and flat TV with sufficient channels ..... Extras include a minibar ....
You can also enjoy garden views sitting from the balcony. ð
Bathroom : Very big, clean and having hot water facilities with bathtub .....
Good toiletries, hand dryer & clean towels.
Staff : All caring, professional & helpful staff. Special thanks to Mr. Madhu , in -charge of housekeeping .... always attentive to give services upto our expectations with a smiling face ... so nice ...
Private beach & Garden : The resort is having excellent clean private beach at the back side and have shacks with chairs & tables ... relax & enjoy the sea breeze & waves ...... â±ð¹ð¸
You can order drinks & snacks at the beach side counter .... ð·ð¯ but it takes some time to deliver your order with limitations.
This counter closes @ 6:00pm ... still you can sit upto dark ... no problem ... security person always present there ...
The resort is filled with plush greenery all over .... lots of palm trees and has a serene atmosphere ..... ð´ð³
Clean & well maintained ....
Restaurants : The Garden Restaurant in the open air ambience was very good, nice hospitality .....
Ample tables & chairs to sit ....
Buffet breakfast were excellent ... varieties of menu ... bread, butter/jam, boiled egg/omlet, fruits, juices, dosa, vada, sambar, various muffins, tea cake, tea/coffee .... oh , all great!!! ð½ ð â
You can have buffet lunch & dinner .... A la carte menu is also available with Chinese, South & North Indian & Sri Lankan cuisins .
Everyday dinner with candle light alongwith live music ð¶ð¶ were just brilliant ..... made the atmosphere more vibrant !!!
The pool side Oasis restaurant serves refreshing beverages with limitations...
Others :
- Free good Wi -fi signal throughout the resort, but low inside the room.
- Outdoor pools ... both for adults & childrens ... good, clean & well maintained.
- Ample parking space.
- A spa, Fitness centre , Gift shop .....
- Other facilities offered includes a tour desk and luggage storage .
Absolutely brilliant .... Loved everything about this place .....
A true beautiful holiday resort !!!
Needing attention - a great spot but in urgent need of refurbishment!

Stayed for three nights with a group of friends.
The bedrooms are situated around the grounds, and some of our group were in refurbished bedrooms. Unfortunately we were not!
Our first room was in very poor condition. The bath enamel was worn, the shower was over the bath, the shower curtain was dirty, the bathroom needed modernised.
The towels were pretty old and one of the sheets on the bed had holes in it. The staff were pleasant, attentive and apologetic, they changed the bed for us when asked, but told us all rooms were the same.
When we saw the rooms others had, we realised there were some more modern refurbished rooms. We changed room, the 2nd room was a bit better, partly modernised, but the original bedroom furnishings are old and worn, and the bare bulbs in the lights make the lighting very harsh.
The cleaning was not up to scratch. Despite asking several times on 2 nights of our stay we were unable to get hand towels!
The breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of both Western and Indian cuisine in plentiful supply. The omelettes are made to order and excellent.
Evening meal was either buffet or a la carte again both Western and Indian cuisine available, with plenty of vegetarian options. There was pleasant entertainment in the restaurant in the evenings.
The pool area is pleasant, there is also a small spa, and a couple of on site gift shops.
The hotel is situated approximately 90 minutes drive from both Chennai and Pondicherry.
The wifi service is intermittent.
With attention to decor and maintenance this could be a great hotel, the potential is there and the staff try hard.
A relaxing place, with nice balcony area and the staff was nice. A bit diappointed as the rooms are not as shown on line.

The room was not to our expectation, but the place was nice. Only one restaurant available so not great choice of food. The staff was nice and helpful. It was nice meeting local fishermen at the seaside. The swimming pool was of average standard.

A fantastic resort with excellent facilities. This hotel really made an ideal beach holiday. The resort has a beautiful pool, picturesque views and an incomparable private beach. This resort also gives you a real taste for luxury and provides fantastic family holidays. Not to mention the phenomenal food quality at the restaurant.
I would highly recommend Ideal beach resort and would definitely visit again in the future.
Disappointing please avoid

The booking process is a scam & badly organized. Cant understand why would hotel offer rooms under "pay when you stay" or "preauthorisation" and then they call up a few days before the check and threaten to cancel the booking if you dont share your credit card details. Further the hotel directly charged my credit card instead of keeping a security deposit "pre-authorisation" which would be refundable at the time of check out. This was very pissing off. Icing on the cake was that the hotel charged my card for 3 nights for a 2 night booking, at the time of check out they were incapable of refunding the money back on my credit card and instead offered me the refund in cash. The lady who manages the booking process and payments sits in another city, is very rude & unhelpful. The property has only pictures of their brick clad room, which are less than 20% of the over all rooms. Most of the regular rooms that they sell are very out dated, old and have a low-market feel, however you wont get to see the pictures of them. This is FALSE Advertising. The balcony attached to the room was large, but the deck chairs were dirty, and cushions on them were missing while some of the other rooms had the cushions. Very poorly managed and maintained.
Food was again 3 stairs, better stick to the Indian staples.
Look at the response from the hotel I am sure Ms.Uma from sales and promotions will not be apologetic rather will say something like "why didnt you call we would have sorted it out." Seems she and the accounts staff has a very aggressive and confronting attitude to the customers.
