Presumably this is closed because of all the scathing reviews. So that's probably a good thing. I came to Abha to spend time in the mountains. I had actually booked the Al Habla Resort through Agoda. Booking confirmed and paid for. Arrived there from the airport by taxi to find it was completely closed for renovations. Then searched for Intercontinental. Their site said it was booked out. I rang their reservations. They said it appears to be booked out. I asked if the hotel was actually open as I'd like to spend the day in the mountains reading and enjoying doing nothing. Nope. Closed for major renovations as per the individual hotel's webpage according to the person on the phone. Note: not sure if closed until Dec 2015 or 2016. I think she said 2016. You might just want to give them a call if you're reading this in 2016.

this is my second visit to this hotel , The first one was 25 years ago . The hotel is still the same , old furnitures but a super nice location with a great view of the mountains . rooms are big and nice with the same OLD furniture. it does not deserve to be a 5* at all and needs renovation .The managment should take more care of this hotel which used to be the best .

First of all, it was sort of adventure to reach this hotel since it is at the highest point in Abha mountain call Sawda. It was really difficult to reach and it really very old in every single things. The lobby, swimming pool, the room furniture, decoration and etc. The price was not so expensive though. However, it was not fun to get to or out because of it's isolated far location. I really think it is a waste of time and money unless major renovation to be done.

It is less than 3 stars hotel, the room was old and very basic furniture.the hotel has no facility and forget to have an Internet connection

Ten years ago, this would have been an awesome place to stay, but time has taken it's toll, and seems to have been forgotten. My co-worker and I walked around the entire place, pool is half full/half empty. pool table, has no access, only INTERNET is in the lobby, and has worked two of the four days here. food is typical Arabic style, with service being hit or miss in what you get. what you order, may not be what arrives. it's as if the place was left alone, and all the humans had left for a few years,,,,,,needs a massive cleaning, and fixing up, not new stuff mind you, just fix what broken or missing. and it would take a week, or more, just to pick up the litter around the facilities.
