Does the job

This is an unusual hotel, an old apartment block on âstiltsâ that was converted some time ago into an hotel. The ground floor was closed in and extended to make the public areas. The apartments, of different sizes became the accommodation. All are upstairs and there are no lifts. Maintenance is a little lacking with broken tiles in the corridor and a crack in the washbasin looking as if they had been like that for a long, long time. The ground floor is a bit brighter and more modern although when we were there the reception area was draughty and cold with poorly fitting doors and windows, so rather unwelcoming. There was though a warmer area with a fire to sit round. The staff on reception were friendly despite the January chill and actually everything in the room was fine despite minor issues. Food was OK, nothing special but like the rooms it did the job. Breakfast on Saturday morning was rather poor, with no hot food and dishwater coffee. No hot milk was available either. Dishes that should have been hot were served cold, which is strange. As they couldnât be heated they shouldnât be served. The next day breakfast was better, and coffee could be ordered from the machine in the bar. All in all, it was more than adequate at doing everything but not really good. By Israeli standards it is reasonably priced (if you get a deal) but by international standards it is overpriced for the level of facilities it provides.
Crater as the focal point

The Ramon Crater was one of the stops for our tour group and a ending point for our day of touring; therefore, it was a natural conclusion for us to stay at the hotel for a night. As such, we found the hotel to fit our needs wonderfully. Some other reviewers scored the hotel low for a multiple day retreat and I would agree that there is little to do in the area for more than one day.
The staff took excellent care of us. The rooms were small due to the hotel previously being apartments that had been renovated into a hotel. I found the conversion to be charming and unique.
Nice hotel and friendly staff but nothing special

We stayed for a two day weekend with 3 other couples in two apartments (each with 2 bedrooms and one bath). The two flats were next to each other so it was convenient for us to spend time together in one of the flats.
The breakfasts were fine with quite a variety - we also had Friday night dinner which was good but probably not worth the price. However there are few options for dinner on a Friday evening in Mitzpe Ramon.
One thing to note - there are no elevators so if you have a lot of luggage, get a lower floor room.
Nothing to write home about !!

Very poor reception service is the welcome blessing , rooms are very small and bathroom even smaller.
Due to kosher requirements they do NOT serve coffee at the restaurant but if you ask for one in the bar you will be charged !!
Price is very high compared to what the offer !!
A nice 3-star hotel
Morty_the_Traveler on 16/01/2018 00:11
This hotel is nice within its category. As a 3-star, it does well. The lobby area is pleasant, but the rooms need to be updated. But, it is clean, and the staff is very helpful and responsive. Plenty of parking, but as others have noted, there is no elevator. The restaurant food is good, although the wait staff is not very professional.
