Jaiwana Haveli is located in Lal Ghat, about ten minutes walk to the City Palace and surrounded by shops and restaurants. It is a great location from which to explore the old city. Some of the bedrooms overlook the lake. The roof top restaurant (quite a few floors up) gives a wonderful view of the lake and is the perfect spot to eat a leisurely breakfast.
When we arrived, the charming receptionist gave us a map of the city and pointed out some of the major sites. This was very helpful indeed and we quickly found our way around the city as a result.
For people who don't like climbing stairs the hotel may not be so suitable but you are rewarded by the excellent views from the restaurant. and some of the bedrooms. Our bedroom was two floors up and had a partial view of the lake. It was very clean and nicely decorated.
Another tip - we went to the traditional music and dance concert in the old Haveli about ten minutes walk from the hotel and it was stupendous. It starts at 7pm and lasts an hour but wise to get to your seat by 6.30pm as it is so popular. The hotel staff will tell you where it is located.

on the way to the hotel,i came to know that taxi or cars are not allowed in the heritage city and hence my taxi could only go to within 500 metres of this haveli. Rest of the way you have to hire an auto. my wife and i are both senior citizens and were carrying two bags which would not have fit in one auto. This would repeat every time we exited or went back to the haveli. The hotel should make permanent arrangements for auto service to their customers.

The room was very comfy and clean (we had a corner room), the staff is amazing and the food at the restaurant is super yummy (and it has a beautiful view at sunset). The wifi connection was also the best we had during our entire trip in India. Plus, you have a special bonus: playing with Millow the beagle :) Highly recommended!

Jaiwana Haveli is a quaint little place overlooking Lake Pichola ... hospitable owner .. city centre... loved staying there ... also, the rooms are cute but super tiny. The food is decent and the roof top restaurant has amazing views.

I had a wonderful stay at Jaiwana Haveli. this was my first stop in India and a great way to be welcomed to this wonderful country.
I arrived early but the staff did everything they could to get my room ready earlier and to accommodate me with a corner room which has a lovely view of the lake.
the rooms are simple but nice and clean. the staff is very friendly and helpful. this was really important to me as I just arrived in India and had a lot of questions and they always helped me out. the roof top restaurant is lovely. great foos and view and so beautiful to have breakfast there. the breakfast that is included in the room is a full breakfast , very delicious !!
the hotel also offers different activities and I really enjoyed the morning bike tour, it was a beautiful way to bike around the lakes with a great local guide - Devv who was wonderful.
I hope to come back some day to this lovely hotel and beautiful city - Udaipur
