Terrible experience ! BeWARE ! SKYWAY Tour Cheats !

Although this area is government owned - all bookings for accommodation go through a private agency called Skyway tours. Since we were a small family, was trying to book a cottage and emailed and called the agency for information. They sent a quote and we had a query to confirm before blocking the cottage on safari. The team took more than 24hrs to revert and at the last moment informed us that everything was booked already and we cannot get any accommodations - This lady "Swapna" who was handling our case did know that the whole place was blocked already by 1 large group already by another colleague of hers !! Really ??? So we made arrangements and leaves from office to be informed at the last minute that they don't care about a small group of people because they are getting more money from another team !!
It infuriated me in India how such professional incompetency are ignored casually !
Shame on you guys - This is very unprofessional and greedy !
And the lady has the nerve to inform me i can go to their bandipur property instead - why should i travel that far in bangalore to bandipur and stay in a government lodge ?
The only reason we wanted to stay here is because the place is so accessible within bangalore - This is highly disappointing !!
Wonderful and memorable

Though this nature camp is right behind the national park, to actually arrive at the main gate of this camp, we had to drive around 5-7kms from the bannerghatta circle. Road and the place around it was both smooth and scenic.
It was hard to believe that such a forest existed hardly 20kms from south of Bangalore.
To start with, staff of the resort were really courteous and we did not get the feeling that we were staying in a government managed resort. Since we were late for check-in, and could reach only at 3pm (check-in was at 12pm), they called us twice - once the inform us that the vehicle for safari would wait for us no longer than 2.30pm, and then to hurry up for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised at their follow-up (though they also do this for planning our resort activities).
We were served to a hot lunch, though we were late by 3 hours and we were the only guests at that time.
Rooms were a drive away from the main parking area. We had chosen the log hut which was, at that time, offered at a discount, and was located at the other end of the resort. Room was clean, cool and well made. Room had AC and hot water running all the time. Log hut was built on a metal structure, reinforced with logs from palm or coconut trees. Loghuts have a small private open area and a separate hammock. There were 3 cots with beds inside. All windows were clean (without cobwebs, etc) and had metal meshes for safety from monkeys or other animals.
Mr. Ponnappa was the resort manager. Himself and his staff were so well mannered, trained and courteous to treat guests that it was hard to believe that they were employed by the government.
Lunch was excellent, dinner was moderate and breakfast was reasonably good. Campfire was arranged on the night we stayed and all guests were served soup to have it around it. Morning tea or coffee was served at around 6.30am and they serve to each room, along with some biscuits. Haven't had this kind of service even at 5 star resorts, unless specifically ordered.
As part of the package, we were taken to safari in a private vehicle meant for resort guests, then to butterfly park and the zoo.
In all, a very nice place to stay for a night or 2. Well managed by Mr. Ponnappa and his staff.
An amazing stay & experience and excellent service

As its an establishment under Government I didn't have expectations :) but surprises started from the morning of the day of our visit.
Morning itself we go a call from JLR confirming our time of arrival, mode of transportation we are taking and the number to reach them in case we need directions etc.. Nice!
Putting "Bannerghatta Nature Camp" in the GPS navigation took us to the correct place.
- Welcome drink on arrival
- Easy check-in
- Courteous staff
- Clean cottage (we took a wooden cottage)
- Well maintained place
- Nice Lunch (as it was time of Bird flu - they had mutton curry & Egg masala for Non-veg - I was impressed)
- Safari + butterfly park + zoo visit arranged by them (included in the package) - 2.30pm to 5.30pm
- Evening wild life video show (around 1 hour)
- Camp fire with Hot soup (amazing experience)
- Tasty and hot dinner (With Fish fry as again no-chicken because of Bird flu)
- Wake up call at 6.30AM & tea/coffee served in the room
- A nature walk at 7AM (not a difficult one for ~1 hour) , through the herbivorous park - this was a signature experience - don't miss this
- Nice break fast and checkout around 11AM
A day close to nature and because of its Govt establishment they have access to the Parts of park which enables to give that wonderful morning walk through park (of course guided). We could see spotted deer, samba, Indian gaur, Nilgai ...
Will I recommend this place ? - Of course yes.
+ We have decided to visit all the JLR establishments in Karnataka also :)
And don't forget to say a "Hi" to the pet peacock you will find in this JLR :)
A great break for the family.

The Bannerghatta Nature Camp is a fantastic get away. We stayed for one night in the dormitory and the place is very well kept and the staff is very hospitable. A big thank you to Povappa who was very very helpful right from the booking stage. A big shout out and thanks to Chandur and Nagesh for their excellent service. All the staff were very friendly. The safari was great. Zoo was a bit disappointing.
Food was excellent and we enjoyed ourselves. Really relaxing after a hectic Christmas.
Resort next to National Park

The Bannergatta Nature Camp is part of the Jungle Lodges and Resorts chain.
Details of price, itinerary etc are available on the Jungle Lodges Website.
The safari is very well done. We get to see white tigers, lions, tigers, bear, bison, elephants, deer from very close quarters.
The accommodation, food and other arrangements are very good. Staff are very polite.
