We would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat. The staff was so friendly and attentive. We booked a villa with a private pool, and it did not disappoint. It was one of the best hotels that we have stayed at.
Breakfast and other meals were delicious and they have a shuttle to take you to the center of Ubud.
We actually stayed here in March of 2016, but i didn't realize i never reviewed the hotel.

Secured premises. Very vey friendly staff. Food is excellent breakfast snacks and dinner. Beautiful views with fantastic swimming pools. Taxi service into town and collection on request. 5 stars from start to finish.

I am truly spoiled by great hotel experiences, but Kamandalu truly stands out. It is the perfect Bali getaway, ticking every conceivable box.
Pros:
- great location in Ubud, 5 mins of driving from the Palace and the village, close to Monkey Forest, etc. yet it is right next to the jungle
- Amazing villas! We were lucky enough to have a two-villa complex with its own swimming pool, right next to the jungle, which was just magnificient. All rooms I have seen smartly mix a Balinese style with modern formats
- superb service
- beautiful property, nice walks, pools, always well kept pathes
- great restaurants with some nice localdishes, the breakfast is awesome
Cons:
- not easy to find. The only thing which bugged me was a petty thing: they quoted me 60 bucks for the airport transfer (above market but fine, this is a luxury hotel), and eventually they charged me 65. Because they charge you in rupiah, with a huge bid-ask spread. So they say 60, translate it to rupiahs, the. Translate it back to US, and you end up with 8% surcharge.
Overall highly recommended!

We stayed 5 days at this property over the NYE2018 period and we were pampered by the service and personal attention which we received from the very friendly staff.
The property itself is 25 years old, however, it has aged and matured into a timeless Ubud masterpiece. The property feels more like a boutique hotel, despite it's large acreage and you could easily lose yourself amongst the beautiful backdrop of valleys, forest and rice paddies.
As mentioned the service is very friendly and attentive to your individual needs making you feel as though every need is tailored to your satisfaction. The food is also fresh and careful attention is given to the detail and tastes provided to guests.
We love our stay and would come back with our extended family to this beautiful property.

This resort is located perfect with many villas having a view to the jungle. Best is to take a villa with private pool. The villas are not very big but they are in good shape. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and also for vegans there is plenty of choice. The prices are more than average for Bali. When going to Ubud this is a very nice place to stay.
