A friend booked me in here for a Saturday to Monday stay. This is a really nice wee B and B in Gardenstown (Gamrie to locals) on the south east coast of the scenic Moray Firth.
Kathleen is a very welcoming hostess who keeps a beautifully clean and tidy house. She also cooks the most fantastic breakfasts!
Highly recommended.
Charming B&B in a beautiful village

We, a family of four, stayed there for one night. We had the upstairs rooms with å shared bathroom. Kathleen was welcoming and helpful, the rooms were clean and the breakfast delicious. She offers wifi, a bit slow, but free. Parking was no problem, in the street one minute walk from the B&B.
The village was quiet and lovely, and we wish we could have stayed longer. We would love to go back.
Did the job

I stayed here on business and once i got over the lack of parking...it's the narrowest street full of bumper to bumper cars parked up.(it's a tiny tiny village on a cliff overlooking the sea with one local spa shop)
You can unload and park 2minute walk away in a neighbouring street.
The shared bathroom was a shock (i didn't read that bit) but didn't prove to be a problem.
My room was quiet even with a full house.
My mattress was hard for what i am used to (think bunk bed style beds)
The lady who owns it is what makes it a great place she is very helpful and cooks a great breakfast!
The old school pub next door is great for food.(it's a tiny pub with no noise!)
All in all great value for money.
A hidden treasure

Stayed for 3 nights at Kathleen's, what a wonderful lady she is. She couldn't do enough for us, allowed us to do some washing, we put it on the line and while we were off exploring the region it started to rain, Kathleen bought our washing in and dried it for us. We had the basement room without a window, but it wasn't a problem as we were only there to sleep. The garden terrace is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the evening sunset. Thank you Kathleen for your kindness and oh forgot to mention the beautiful fulfilling breakfasts.
Quiet Location

We stayed with Kathleen for three nights in the basement room with no natural light or windows. Exceptionally quiet location as Kathleen's is located at the end of a small single lane street.
The room was of a reasonable size and the bathroom was quite roomy. Our room was located in the basement at the bottom of a narrow staircase. I had no issues with the room location. The bed is comfortable and the room heated.
Breakfast is a simple combination of cereals and cooked items in Kathleen's kitchen. Parking can be a problem as the street is exceptionally narrow and parking is therefore at a premium. However I was able to park at the front door of the B&B on each of the three nights.
Gardenstown only has one pub, however there is a tearoom and a restaurant as well. We only ate at the pub which is right next door.
We would return.
