We, party of 6 from the Netherlands, have stayed in the 3-bedroom private villa at Kayumanis Ubud. We all agreed: this was the best service we have ever experienced!
Having arrived late at night at the end of January 2018, for a 7 days stay at Kayumanis Ubud. We were picked up from the airport with very comfortable, air-conditioned cars by the Kayumanis staff. They provided us with cold towels, cold water and other drinks and made us feel right at home.
Arriving at Ubud we were welcomed with the phrase "Welcome Home!". And home it came to be.
We were offered a complementary cocktail, our luggage was taken to our villa's and all was explained to us with a big smile.
Waking up the next morning the first impression was the tranquil, rainforest surrounding and the sounds of nature. We went to the restaurant for our first breakfast which was an experience by itself. Nothing but perfection! And you can have it 24hrs a day! Recommendation: the eggs Benedict and the Kayumanis toast! Perfect cappuccino's!
Every day you can use the complimentary transportation to be brought to Ubud and the surrounding area. At any time of the day!
The afternoon tea's are very divers and tasteful and you can have it either in your Villa or at the Dining Corner restaurant.
The public pool is very romantically situated in the middle of the forest and has a view of the river in the valley. Great beds and good pool service.
The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. The pool clean and of good temperature. The cleaning of the rooms is subtly done while you are having breakfast, as well as the turndown service during your diner. Every day your minibar in your villa is complimentary stocked with 6 softdrinks and 2 beers.
The 30 minutes welcome massage is fantastic. The spa accommodation from another level in the mids of the rain forest. A very special experience which led to extra massage bookings during our stay!
We would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Koming! She made our stay very special with her caring and high standard of service. She and all the other staff go the extra mile every day and make you feel right at home and very well taken care off.
We would definitely recommend visiting Kayumanis Ubud for anybody who is looking for top of the line service, hospitality, comfort and total relaxation for a very good price vs. quality. We will be back!

This place in one word ! A m a z i n g. We had the opportunity to stay in Kayumanis Ubud for two nights and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. There are so many amazing things about this place so I want to try and address them one by one in this review.
First, the location.
The villa is located right in the heart of Ubud, meaning that it is only a few minutes drive from the main city center where you can dine, shop and be treated to the rich culture and traditions of Bali. The transport services in place to get you from point A to B are great.
Now, the food. The food can be summed up in one word- wonderful. Kayumanis Ubud had delectable local and international breakfast and high tea served from 2.30-5pm The room service was impeccable. We were enjoying food deliciously and creatively managed out of a luxurious hotel . Some of the breakfast favourites include the Mee Goreng and the Kayumanis Toast and the Balinese coffee and tea is a must try . The Chef, Made is talented and obviously a busy person and yet, he makes time to greet each patron explain how he comes up with his gastronomical creations at the villa cafe. He even sent us the recipe on how to make the yummy Kayumanis Cookies which is in a jar next to the bottles of water next to the driver if you are riding in their vans and next to the mini bar in the villas. It is irresistible. Its best to adopt a eat today, diet tomorrow plan when at Kayu Manis ð
Now, the villa itself.
One word. Wow. We travelled in our family of 5 and we were overwhelmed with the villa and all its grandeur. The villa was beautiful , massive and clean, offering amazing, unforgettable features such as an outdoor shower and an infinity pool overlooking the luscious jungle. Thankfully, the rooms are all airconditioned, offering refuge from the humidity and heat of Bali. The rooms comes fully outfitted with everything you might need, whether it be free wifi or even the mini bar with a variety of drinks for all to enjoy. As mentioned in previous reviews, this place stays true to its hallmarks of being private and in tune with nature as communicated through the villaâs clearly wood architecture and natural greenery. You are not imagining if you see the squirrel scurrying from one tree to another whilst you are sun-bathing.
Amidst all the grandeur and luxuriousness of the villa, the best aspect and memories of this place is the people and I canât even begin to name them all as they were ALL truly exceptional.
The moment you get there and you are greeted with the immense warmth and hospitality of the Balinese . They all greet you with a smile which is such an instinctive feature of their nature. They show a genuine commitment to ensuring that your stay with them is as relaxing and luxurious as possible. The staff were prideful and polite to explain the different cultural aspects whether it be the rituals observed or even the small things like the welcome flower and how the togetherness of our hands to receive it denotes reciprocity in kind. When you arrive at the villa after a long day out, you are greeted with the fervent, wholesome warmth of the greeting "welcome home" from the reception staff . That really tops and sums up the comfort of our overall stay as you are made to feel itâs a home away from our home !
If I had to describe Kayu Manis in one word, it would be truly 'amazing.' Thank you to the lovely people of Kayumanis Ubud for making our family holiday an amazing and wonderful and unforgettable one.

The food wasnât amazing but actually we didnât care. Plus we are used to Singapore where the food is particularly good. There a ton of amazing restaurants out in Ubud anyway.
The staff are so sweet and helpful.
Iâd stay again in a minute!

We stayed at Kayumanis Ubud for our honeymoon in 2016, and promised the staff that we would write our first online review because we enjoyed our stay so much. Took us some time, but because the service was so great, we wanted to honor our commitment to them.
The villas were large and clean, with a beautiful outdoor lounge/dining area, and the housekeeping service was timely and thorough.
Our rate included breakfast and afternoon tea. The breakfast was spectacular and we loved the Indonesian breakfast options. Dining at the restaurant was also a pleasure. Almost two years later, we still talk about how amazing the food was, and have yet to find an Indonesian restaurant with food to compare.
Last but not least, the service was exceptional. When we arrived, they had a flower petal bath set up to commemorate our honeymoon, and we left with a nice candle as a honeymoon gift. They were very accommodating with the shuttle, as much bug spray as we needed, and going above and beyond. When we needed help with a sim card or a tube for paintings, one of the staff would walk with us to the village to take care of it.

My wife and I recently made a return trip to the Kayumanis Ubud spa and resort. We had been there on our honeymoon five years previously and decided that it would be lovely to celebrate our fifth anniversary there. We were not disappointed.
What I find most remarkable - in this world of constant change - is precisely how little Kayumanis had changed. It retained its charm, its manner, its way of doing things; in short, all those things that make it stay true to its philosophy. It was the PERFECT getaway from the rat-race, in a wonderfully secluded and lovely corner of Bali.
The physical plant is striking and inviting. Your private villa is precisely that; private. The pool is immaculately kept up, as is virtually every part of the villa itself. If one wanted to stay there for a week and not go out and see anyone, that would be entirely possible. Comfort and privacy are the hallmarks of this place. And it delivers on both!
What makes Kayumanis stand out most of all, however, is the quality of service. One feels a pampered guest - check that; one feels as if you are the ONLY guest that matters! The "front desk" is knowledgeable and efficient, catering to your every whims. The staff in the restaurant are attentive; you have but it eat there once and they have a good sense of what you like or don't like. And the women at the spa are, well, superbly skillful in what they do. At the risk of sounding cliched, you truly feel a member of a family when you are a guest there.
Needless to say, I heartily recommend Kayumanis Ubud to anyone who needs a break from the daily routine and who knows how to appreciate the work that goes into making you feel as if you are the center of the world!
