Travelled with family over the weekend. Colonial property perched on a hill above the hustle and bustle of Udhagamandalam. A tidy garden and a cosy sitout in front of the room. Helpful staff and good food. Fireplace in the room is a novelty. A tiny hill path above the property is excellent for a short and brisk walk in the morning taking you through a tea garden. Definitely would like to comeback !!

Property is not at all a star graded hotel. Food is terible. Staffs are rude. Service is very slow. Options are limited. Poorly managed in busy & high occupancy time. Certainly will not recomend to others.

It's up on a hill ! There is an old colonial style aura about the place ! The Restaurant( Earl's secret or something like that) had good food but inexplicably costly .Damn expensive! That was a bit off a spoiler.
You have no other choice but to eat here .As tr are no other restaurants close to this place.
The lawns need a bit off attention.They are bald at some places .Ooty as such has turned into a horrible mess with shoddy constructions and the tourist spots are over crowded.Its no longer the Ooty I remember as 13 ,14 year old .Now I am 29.
The room was cozy and was very old with some refurbishing in the bathroom areas.
The fire place in the room was an attraction.My wife was so excited to have that in the room.That kind of is the moment in the whole trip.
The traffic ,constant honking on the roads ,crowd,badly maintained tourist spots ,harassing of tourists by guides asking for thrice the normal prices was horrible
This place can be visited once .Ooty is out of my places to visit list forever.Uncontrolled growth and corruption of the officials has lead to buildings come up like mushrooms everywhere.

I stayed for 2 nights at the end of November after riding the Nilgiri Mountain Railway. A well preserved colonial property which certainly takes you back in time outside of Ooty. I was in a room on the ground floor with a sitting room / bedroom with fireplace and well equipped bathroom. The food was excellent and obviously there is a benefit you can ring your own beer etc which you can drink at the table. Staff very helpful - turning on hot water when requested and organising a driver to see the sites for a day for 3,000 rupees. Hotel wasnât full so no music in the main sitting room and also fire not lit there and it needed to be because it was cold! Good to eat breakfast in the glass covered restaurant and also very glad of fire in the room at nights. Would love to come back when warmer And be able to sit outside. Wi-fi works in the main sittIng room area and was good when it worked but unfortunately was out of action for most of my stay.

Nice rooms, good location and service. Most amazing experience was fireplaces. Much impressed with the service of staff. Having breakfast inside the glasshouse was enjoyable. Once who loves nature, I would like to recommend this property.
