Very nice hotel to stay and they have a very friendly staffs. All the rooms are located facing sea view and a swimming pool. I recommend for holiday makers. The breakfast is excellent. Would love to visit again in my future holidays.
Big disappointment

We arrived on the 25th of January at 11pm from Zanzibar we had already booked
As we arrived the rooms were not ready as we were 2 families and the other family they were 3 adults and a child but they were given a small room that could not afford all of them we had to leave the hotel and they couldn't help us
It's a big disappointment I made my reservation through a lady called Josephine
Disappoiting

I stayed in Kunduchi for 10 days, and I wish I could take that experience back.
We read the reviews before visiting the hotel but have a look at them it's clear that we did not experience what others did and that is poor standards all around.
Yes, the hotel needs a coat of paint but thatâs not itâs biggest problem or what will turn this place around.
This place needs Management with good standards and staff who CARE about their place of work and the experience they provide for their visitors.
I wish, that despite numerous issues the hotel is struggling with, i could at least say that we had a quiet and peaceful holiday but unfortunately it was far from it. We in fact had to get away from the hotel to get some piece away from unbearably loud daily (for all 10 days !) and out of tune vocalists, at extra cost of course !!
Herewith are some issues we experienced:
-no hot water for the first 3 days
-Uncomfortable, very thick pillows left us with sore necks; we eventually got one thin pillow 2 days before leaving
-Dirty toilet that took 3 requests to have scrubbed
-Broken sink drain, that took 3 requests to have fixed the first time but it continued throughout the stay; the disturbing and unacceptable event is the first time it was fixed someone came into my room while I was sleeping !!
-Stinking towels; we didnât get one towel that smelt fresh; they all smelt like they were taken out of a moldy cupboard
-balcony door didnât have a handle and I broke a nail trying to open it
-we once asked for a beach towel and we got handed a used, white bath towel with visible dirt marks
-tv was not watchable and it had permanent âsnowâ and crackling sounds
-roof in the gym was falling down in a few places and most machines were out of order, with no air conditioning and only one fan working
-Diner floor was always greasy and slippery often with food on the floor and no staff bothering to pick it up.
-all warm food we (and tons of flies) had to eat for dinner and lunch for the first 4 days was curry and no veg at all
-breakfast was difficult also, all cereal was soft and soggy; cheese had to be smelt before we could eat it as it was off on a few occasions; some âegg stationâ Chefs didnât know how to make a soft fried egg;
-broken toaster that either toasted only on one side or not at all
-it took 2 people, 3 conversations and 20minutes to order ice cream and to be told that they didn't have chocolate flavor
-there was no service on the beach, so getting a drink was more difficult than hailing a cab in NYC;
-bills for signatures would come a day later leading to confusion and arguments about who had what
-constantly empty water container at arrival hall, was rather symbolic of the hotelâs ability to service clientele
-our room hadn't been serviced before 4pm, on a few occasions despite hotel being 20% occupied ( if that! )
-broken ice machine
-broken blender meant we couldnât have cocktails
-numerous little maintenance jobs that take no or little money to have fixed are being overlooked and neglected: chairs with broken springs in the rooms, dead lightbulbs everywhere, broken tanning chairs, broken railings leading down the mail staircase ( SAFETY!! risks especially for kids) , broken posts on balcony beds, no cushions on balcony chairs, wires sticking out of walls in reach of a crawling child !!
...there are simply too many to mention...and I provided pictures for a lot of above.
The biggest issue of the hotel is the beach!
And more precisely incredibly dirty beach full of plastic, which is relatively easy to clean and yet the hotel (unlike other hotels we visited) takes no steps towards providing at least a small stretch of a swimmable beach by collecting the rubbish.
Floating plastic and human feces in the water were a standard occurrence.
The tanning area off the beach belonging to the hotel was full of bottle caps (plastics, tin and a lot of then rusted) and cigarette buds.
One day I got annoyed by how dirty the sand was around my (broken) chair, and I picked up cigarette buds and bottle caps for about 10 minutes then took it to one of the managers.
Minutes later a âcleaning teamâ was sent to âcleanâ the sun tanning area... all they did was, again: sweep the dirt from one place to another then dig superficial holes (in the same area) which they filled with rubbish and covered with sand (pics provided).
Pretty useless exercise if you ask me, especially in such a windy place, not one cleaner bent over to pick up anything off the ground for the hour they were âcleaning â
The final straw was trying to settle the room bill. The reception lady had real trouble with calculations and charged us $70 less than she was supposed to (our friends were billed for their room rate, which had been settled in full a month prior to arrival) We corrected her, paid the money, in cash because the card machine didnât work, and requested a tax invoice.
By the time she printed the actual invoice there was $40 of miscellaneous costs that suddenly appeared...
She insisted that she couldnât change it on the system, and it had to be sent to accounts for rectification.
The above process took 1,5 hour !!
While the manager is completely invisible, hiding away in an office behind closed doors (even on the day of preparation for New Years function for 100s of people) it is very sad that a place with such potential is being squandered, and our most pleasant memories were made in restaurants and beaches away from the hotel.
Resort with Beach access

I enjoyed the atmosphere here however the service was not up to the mark.. 15000 TSH charges to enter the hotel area was a big No even though u get 6000 TSH as cover .... limited seating area is what made us wait nearly 30 mins for seats. drinks ordered arrived after 30 mins and even one of the glass served was a used glass.. food took 1 hour to arrive... over all a big disappointment
Beautiful

I enjoyed everything about the Resort. The staff were so helpful and charming, the food was yummy, the views from my room was fantastic. I will recommend to other people and will definitely come back soon
