We arrived by ferry to Santander and had pre booked but the boat was late and we went wrong on the road. The hotel seemed closed when we arrived but we had been expected, so were made welcome. Clean and large rooms. A good continental breakfast.

I liked this place. It is not modern or up to date and in some areas a little tired BUT I love it. The staff were lovely fun and helpful. No English spoken so with out poor Spanish we had such fun communicating. Very nice food - watch out for the local cheese sauce if you don't like tangy cheese. No air con ample parking. Breakfast like so many places is meagre! A nice old fashioned good value for money stop. Loved it.

Stayed here for the weekend as a wedding gift. It is located right next to the Cares River, which you can wet your feet in on a hot day (like we did!). The hotel is quite nice--clean, comfy beds, lounge that feels like your at home in your own living room. One downside is the lacking elevator, so be prepared to drag your suitcases up the stairs. Another was the fact that there was no AC or ceiling fans, so on a hot summer night it can be quite hard to sleep. The restaurant served big portions of fresh, home-cooked meals. Very delicious food!
Nearby is Pancorbes, which is tthe start to the Cares route to Cain. We went early one morning and it was the most breathtaking route I've evr been on. Definitely recommend it!

This is a belated review of a little piece of paradise in the beautiful area known as "The Green Spain". This little family hotel lies by the incredibly pristine river Cares, in Asturias, very close to the area known as "Picos de Europa".
La Molinuca is a very small, comfy, family run hotel, that can give you hints about fishing in the nearby river (just across the road from the hotel) , but can give you a good basis from where to visit other beautiful spots and let you enjoy great, unpretentious food.
If you cannot stay, at least, visit the restaurant... and enjoy the cheese platter, full of incredible local cheeses.
Whatever you decide, I am sure you will enjoy a short or long visit to La Molinuca
