Resort has potential but is badly run! Tented villas are nothing but rooms on the 2nd floor with a tent roof!

I visited Lions Paw with a group of 4 in November,2017.The property has potential located within a mango orchid and a commanding courtyard. However it has many flaws and is poorly run.It advertises luxury tented villas...but have you ever come across tents on the 2nd floor of a building with cemented walls.....only the roof has a tent like cover. The images of the tents on their website are misleading. The so called tented villas are nothing but rooms on the 2nd floor of a building block.I expected grounded tented villas. This is misleading and I am surprised that Palaces of India resort to this misinformation.Further, there was no lift and no telecom connection from the so called tented rooms with Reception. In addition,we faced no water in the tents in the morning ,more often than not,and had no telecom to inform the reception of this ordeal. In short we were getting ready for morning Safari with no water.
The dining area was dirty and the food mediocre. On the first night of arrival there were only 3 dishes! The Reception was tatty with torn sofas. The surrounding areas of the resort were littered with building materials lying around.
The resort had not renewed its own vehicle to apply in the national park so we were expected to use the third party vehicles and guides on rotation.....a different set for each of my 5 safaris.....disaster for serious wildlife photographers like me.This is the third time I have visited Gir and each time with Palaces of India but for the first time have faced such an experience.Unfortunately, their earlier Resort at Gir closed down which was much better run.I think Palaces of India need to get their act together if they are to keep the goodwill of their past customers.
Nice Resort

Gir Lion's Paw, one of the most beautiful places to stay in Gir National Park and is situated in the healthy surroundings of the Gir National Park.
the family of Gir Lion's Paw and an unbelievable team of staff who takes great pride in ascertaining that the guests will have a wonderful experience filled with a lot of passion and qualities. The hotel is located in the peaceful ambiance of mango farm.

it was our last stop (after a pleasant visit to Dwarka,Somnath n Diu) and highly disappointing, no basic amenities to tired traveling guest like chilled drinking water, cold drinks .
There was no facilities for tea/coffee in room,in the morning we got prepared tea(after a very long waiting) in thermos n disposable glasses like in dharmshalas and lodges.
Good place to stay

The rooms are spacious. Very neat and clean hotel. Situated in a proper jungle area. Service provided at the room is perfect. Hotel has a very nice swimming pool area. Perfect place to hang around with friends.
