We were here before and thoroughly enjoyed the place in spite of bad weather. A year later we've come again and thoroughly enjoyed it again, this time with the added charm of a local art exhibition throughout the village. The quality of the room, of the cuisine and of the professional as well as informal personnel, were as expected. I think that when we again see the tower of the 12th century Oldeberkoop church, we'd be happy!

My family and I stayed in hotel Lunia for 3 nights during our visit to the Netherlands for a family wedding. The staff were very welcoming and could not do more for us to make sure er had an extremely pleasant stay.
We stayed in the modern extension of the hotel and it was lovely! Very clean, modern and the rooms were perfect. I stayed on the first floor so I had my own private balcony which was lovely to go out on to in the mornings with a cup of coffee.
Each room was very spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. Their are hair dries in each bedroom as well as towels, shampoo & conditioner, shower gel and some teas and coffee. There are no irons in the bedrooms but the reception staff were able to provide us with one when we asked.
We had breakfast each morning which consisted of a range fresh food - fruits, selection of breads and pastries, cereal, yoghurt, eggs, bacon, cheeses, ham, freshly squeezed orange juice, teas and coffee and a number of other drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed the food but felt it was a little over priced at â¬12.50 per person - my partner and I would have been happy with just a slice of toast or banana so this was simply our opinion.
The hotel bar was well stocked and the price of drinks were quite cheap - a glass of prosecco for only â¬4!
We had dinner in the hotel one night and it was absolutely fantastic! We were given a complimentary starters. These were a lovely surprise and very quirky - they came in little tins. I cannot remember exactly what it was but we all loved it - please see photo attached. The dishes we chose we duck, vale cheek, lentils and vegetable sushi, and beef. Not one of us had any complaints!
We made great use of the lovely seating area out the front of the hotel. This was a large and comfortable area which worked perfectly for our large family.
All in all we had a brilliant experience at this hotel and we could not recommend it enough to people. The staff working at this hotel are a real asset and made our stay fabulous.
Thank you to everyone at Hotel Lunia who made my family and I so welcome! Hopefully we will return again one day.

Very comfortable small hotel in picturesque village in Friesland. Nice rooms with floor to ceiling windows and all modern amenities. Outstanding breakfast selection and friendly staff. Close to a variety of historic and cultural venues

I was in holland for an exhbition and due to an unpleasant situation I went at the last moment in this hotel.
The room is fantastic, quite and with a big window, noiseless and very clean.
The best is the restaurant, the quality of the food is excellent and in Italy it could have , for sure, 1 star michelin.
The only pity but it's really a small one, the iginiec paper could be a little bit more smooth.

We stayed here while visiting the TT at Assen. This is the second time we have stayed and it suits us well. Lovely comfortable rooms overlooking the pleasant garden. The option of using the outdoor Whirlpool and sauna is a real bonus, especially when the weather at the TT was on the cool and windy side! The food is excellent and the wine list has some really interesting selections .Good Wi-Fi connection in the rooms and easy to get connected. The staff are really helpful and friendly.
