It is an old haveli which has been renovated and turned into a hotel. I was in a beautiful suite, they have only one suite on 3rd floor (302)
The hotel room is colourful with small little windows everywhere, it has beautiful sitting areas in the room. The spacious room was big enough to make 6 to 7 people sleep comfortably. lol
The haveli is located in the old city so a car cannot go inside as its mot allowed but you will enjoy the Tuk Tuk ride. The hotel staff is very sweet and supportive, they would come to chand pole to take the luggage, thats where you taxi driver can drop you. Well being located where it is, you have an advantage. All good cafes, lake side restaurants, markets, city palace, temples are walking distance from Madri Haveli. It is safe and good.
I waked out side the haveli in the streets late night and loved the experience. Morning breakfast is on the rooftop and view is jaw dropping, you can see the entire city from there.
Adding some pictures of my suite :)
Wonderful gem

We stayed in two deluxe rooms, with our teenage daughters, over New Year. Beautiful hotel. Wonderful staff and very helpful front desk. Lovely breakfast. Quiet and peaceful. It was a magical stay and we absolutely loved the hotel. I would return. Wonderful location.
A Quaint Haveli

This place was so cute. It reminded me of the Riads in Marrakech .... an oasis in a bustling lake city. We have the mini suite and it was spacious and very comfortable. The whole place has been restored to its traditional set up and the staff are on point and place is really nice making the stay comfortable and homely. The manager was very helpful and engaging. Breakfast on the rooftop was fab, good views with fresh juices, eggs and a good Indian fair. Excellent puri Bhaji!
Only thing to be mindful of is that there is very little natural light in most of the rooms.
Great location and can take a nice stroll to the markets. The walk across the bridge also offers some really interesting finds.
Would recommend Madri for a boutique stay in Udaipur.
Good value accommodation in the heart of the old town

We spent three nights at this hotel, including New Year's eve.
Location: 40 min drive from airport, 10 min walk to the City Palace
Hotel: historical building beautifully restored and decorated in minimalist style. There is a restaurant on the terrace offering great views of the town (reviewed separately).
Room: we stayed in a suite on the 2nd floor (room 202). It was a large room with a seating area, large bed, wardrobe and spacious bathroom with a sunken bath with overhead shower. There was a TV, safe, aircon and frigobar. Both room & bathroom were spotless although there were drain smells. Towels, bed linen and toiletries were of good quality.
Sleep quality: the hotel is located on a busy street and because our room faced the street we were woken up by traffic noise.
Breakfast: tea, coffee, fresh juice, toast and eggs cooked to order.
Customer service: friendly and polite. They organized airport transfer to the hotel on arrival and a transfer to Jodhpur both in comfortable cars driven by conscientious drivers - although at a higher price than that practiced by local travel agents. The only let down was a city tour organized by them with a guide that was not knowkedgeable about the town and for which we received a refund.
Overall: this is a midrange hotel, very hard to find in India, so it offers good value for money.
Old haveli. Nicely restored. Good to try once.

For people who love to explore heritage, this is an excellent choice.Located in narrow lanes near Lake Pichola, this property is very old but very nicely restored. The location of the property is an advantage as all main attractions like Lake Pichola,City Palace, Bagore ki haveli,Jagdish temple etc are around this property. Little difficult to find on your own,it is advisable to call the hotel as soon as you near Chandpole area. The hotel staff responds quickly and the people come to receive you at your location as the vehicle cannot go upto the hotel. So please people who are old and differently abled may avoid this property. The room which we stayed was 101.Very nicely done with all basic amenities. The sitting area near the window is the real attraction with beautiful small windows opening outside and colourful glasses giving colourful experience in the sun light. They have a beautiful restaurant on the roof top which is a cosy experience specially if you are in Udaipur in Dec/Jan.Enjoying breakfast and Lunch in the sun is really enjoyable. Two main cons which may not be liked by the tourists is 1.Breakfast - Surprisingly no buffet and very restricted quantity in al a carte. You may be surprised to notice that you cannot eat more than one paratha/chapati and many such other restrictions in the complimentary breakfast .Food quality is also average. 2.Avalibility of hot water is restricted to two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening.
