While we have been to Goa numerous times to soak in the serene beaches, thought of witnessing the Xmas and new year madness this time around.
We zeroed in on Baga Chalangute side for the trip but it took a lot of (re)seach to finalise the hotel.
We wanted someplace closer to beach, in a happening area, cost effective and at the same time decent enough - and Mayflower it is.
I don't know why a lot of people saying that management is rude, favoring only foreigners etc. but believe me, I didn't face any such issue. The staff definitely needs to learn how to say NO without coming across as rude but that's about it. They are to the point - which mostly works with me.
Second, many said they are costly. YES THEY ARE. We paid INR18000 for 3 nights without an hour's extension, without any meals - not even breakfast, without proper wifi and without any toiletries. I know it was peak season so you guys charged us 100% more, but atleast provide breakfast. We were DISAPPOINTED.
They readily CLAIM that wifi works very well, it definitely didnt in our room. And it wasn't access issue, just that signal was poor. Pls invest in couple of more routers and boosters.
BIGGEST CONCERN - Many reviews state that hotel is too fussy about its tome of rules, and that is correct. What's not cool is management putting placards announcing lobby/ waiting area in front of reception as NO SMOKING and yet providing light and ashtrays to patrons. NOT COOL guys.

LOCATI9N - It's a 3min walk to the beach, through the most happening lane - Tito's. It was such an awesome experience being in that lane late nights, we just can't explain. Buzzing atmosphere, crazy food and drinks, slick n shiny people - you name it. And then there is the beach with its own night and day life.
To n fro transport is easily available.
Rooms, though dated, are large enough. Have big balconies and allow enough sunshine.
However, we were never given hand towels.Now were there any toiletries except cheap small soap. And yet 18k I paid, damn.!

Great hotel and pool friendly staff who will go out of there way to accommodate your needs . This hotel is walking distance to the beach and all the sights will defiantly be back .a big thanks to sylvester and his staff for s wonderful two weeks

Booked four rooms for the week-Boy was it an excellent family get together.Will go back

We were meeting up for a family get together for the last week of July until early August. Booked four rooms in one go. The owners were responsive and quick to sort out any issue. We enjoyed sitting by their restaurant and just hanging out and chatting out. The food at their restaurant is of an excellent quality and the service i.e. room quality and size was fantastic. We are going back again in Dec to stay at this same hotel and have recommended other friends in Canada and the US to visit the Mayflower hotel when in Goa. Great value for money and proximity to the beach .

This hotel is in a great location, a short walk to the beach or the vibrant nightlife of Tito's Lane & Baga Rd. The rooms are nice, a reasonable size,clean & considering the area remarkably quiet. The bed was large & very comfy, the furniture is nice old wooden stuff, there's a fridge & nice balcony. The staff were helpful & friendly & there's 24 hour reception. A comfortable chair would have been nice as there were only two hard plastic ones, but that's a minor complaint as you probably won't spend much time in the room with so much going on in the area.

Great location, very well managed by a no nonsense lady, cute Portuguese style hotel with a nice pool and good breakfast and food options. Value for money it is, mostly opted for by foreigners, will definitely recommend.
