One night stay - ideal for the Warner Studios

stayed here for 1 night as part of a national holidays package trip to London and the harry potter studio tour .
its very handy for the studios , only about 10-15 min drive away .
having seen some of the recent reviews i was a little nervous , but have to say we had a pleasant stay with no real issues .
check in was quick and easy considering there was a large group to deal with .
we had a twin room and yes the decor is a bit retro - but the room was spotlessly clean .
our only issue was that the room was really warm and even with the windows open it did not cool down much .
there was a really nice hot and cold buffet breakfast available .
there was some noise from a disco / event in the hotel but we could not hear it in the wing we were in .
the walls do seem very thin and it was quite noisy walking down the corridor , but once in our room there was very little noise for the next door rooms .
the staff were pleasant , and we requested a rubber bath mat and a brand new one was delivered quickly to our room .
we went to London the next day and the hotel is about 45min - 1 hour away from the capital
Great daytimes, awful night times!

We had a mixed, but generally positive, experienced here during our recent stay. The 2 day times were wonderful, with the night time experience being the major let down.
Pros:
- Lovely, attentive staff throughout the reception, wellbeing spa and dining area
- A clean and spacious (albeit slightly dated) room
- great spa facilities
- a great breakfast buffet with a good balance of cooked food and continental options, including pastries, fresh fruit and juices.
- some issues were dealt with well (eg faulty hairdryer was replaced 15 mins later)
- plenty of parking
Cons:
- I had to complain several times about noisy guests making far too much noise from 10pm - 1am. When the staff did speak to them, this didn't do much to help, and I wasn't able to fall asleep until almost 2am because of how noisy guests were being. While this is not the fault of the hotel, more should have been done to monitor the inconsiderate guests
- dinner was OK. Not very tasty but big portions. Had it not been included in the price, we would have been better off going to a nearby restaurant.
- there were only 2/3 veggie options for dinner.
All in all I would stay there again, but would be careful about which room I was given. And the brasserie really isn't worth a visit, despite its lovely staff.
Just average

I stayed in this hotel for one night and it was fine. The check-in was quick and the room was clean. The check-out was also quick. There is also free parking which is an added bonus. All in all, very uneventful!
Too noisy to go back

Hotel and food weâre ok, but we had other guests slamming doors and running on noisy floors for an hour through the night. Even just walking on our floor was noisy. You get what you pay for. We will not be staying here again.
Shocking

Stayed at the mercure over night from the moment we arrived it was awful , the customer service was shocking , when checking in the only thing that was said to us was âdown the stairs , left then rightâ no good evening or welcome to the mercure just 15 minutes of silence then âdown the stairs , left then rightâ
Once we had checked in and got in to our room the first thing we noticed was the bass coming from the event happening at he hotel , I understand that you have weddings etc but when the bass is so loud itâs vibrating through the room a warning upon arrival or an apology would have been nice, then we noticed the filth of the room it was disgusting it looked as though the room hadnât been cleaned in a while as you can see in the photos , if the customer service had been better and if it hadnât have been so late we would have walked out.
