This hotel was booked for us by our travel agent and we were very dubious about staying after reading a lot of the reviews - turns out we were right to feel so. Our room was so incredibly dated that it wasnât trendy it was just shabby, and it smelt, it was so musty that I woke up in the middle of the night with a blood nose. We were unable to air it out due to the homeless people that live at the back of the hotel that were fighting and screaming.
We left the next day (3 nights early) and instead of being concern as to why we were leaving I got attitude from a rude concierge and really they could not have cared less - customer service was a zero.
The so called âsecurity bondâ is a hidden cost and the story we got was itâs was for the âfreeâ mini bar and any damage - no it didnât make sense to us either.
There are no basics like coffee or tea making facilities, the air con sounded like an industrial clothes dryer, the carpet was stained as was the bathroom. The toilet was so small that if you are over 5â6 you probably will have to sit sideways (I am not kidding - see the photo)
I would recommend staying anywhere else - I booked the Radisson Blu late that night and they were kind enough to have a room ready early the next morning, and helped us in every way they could.

If perfection exists, one may find it at this breathtaking piece of architectural splendor. This luxurious palace- like hotel will make you feel like royalty thanks to its elegantly decorated rooms, impeccable 'cuisine' and galant staff.

Beautiful entrance hall and reception. Staff very courteous and couldn't do enough to help. Restaurant seemed a little pricing until meal came which was outstanding worth every penny, would recommend the Fish Stew. Drinks quite expensive but never felt rushed, spent all first night in restaurant, ambiance very relaxing. Breakfast, there was a lot of choice, smoked salmon, meats, fresh bread wonderful. Got a breakfast deal when we booked otherwise 28⬠pp. Metro just outside. Only 17⬠for 2 people to antwerp on train which took 35 mins, 300⬠taxi return, yes 300â¬. Caught bus to and from airport only 6⬠for 2 people compared to 48⬠each way by taxi. Bus station just at bottom of road.

I spent three nights at this hotel. The Hotel is conveniently located on the Place de Brouckere, just in front of the trolley stop, and the historic center of Brussels is just around the corner. Check-in was fast and uneventful.
I stayed on one of the recently refurbished Privilege Rooms....let me tell you that pictures don't do justice to how luxurious these rooms actually are. Mine had a separate living room-dining room section with a powder room and then the actual bedroom with a superking size bed and full bathroom....Everything was just amazing
Breakfast is served on a place called "Le Jardin Indien", and it was very abundant and varied. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so I didn't try the Café Métropole.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family if they visit Brussels and I would like to spend more time at this amazing place.

Very nice environment. Original architecture. Expensive for just coffee and and dessert. A pitty the staff is not friendly at all.
A must-see if you like architecture, but not for the service.
