The main reason for selecting Midan Hotel Suites was that we were a family of four travelling together for a short three night break in Muscat and wanted somewhere we could stay together and have some common living space and a kitchen for small meal prep. For this purpose, Midan was perfect. The living / dining area was quite large and the kitchen had all the required items for making quick breakfast and snacks.
The two bed and bathrooms were clean, light and nicely furnished. My biggest complaint was that the mattress (in the master, at least) was a hard as a rock! And I normally like a firm mattress but, this was over the top. It was almost torturous to spend three nights on it. The sheets and pillows did not make it any better.
The service at the hotel was very prompt and helpful. They nicely brought us a crib/cot for the baby right away and extra towels as requested. The location is very central to many of the main tourist attractions although, we had our car so, getting around was not difficult. It might be a little harder if you were relying on taxis. There are many small shops and restaurants within walking distance. We were able to get groceries within the block and enjoyed a nice dinner at the Amazing Chicken Korean restaurant next door. (It is sad that the excellent Thai restaurant that used to be in this hotel is now closed though). The coffee shop on the ground floor had nice Moroccan tea and sofas for watching the football match.
Overall, the visit was good because of the value the Midan provided for our family but, when I go back I might consider another location just because the beds were so uncomfortable.
Third Time Was Almost A Charm

Our family of four just completed our stay here and I had a lot more issues here compared to nearly every hotel I have ever stayed at. I will state the problems we had. We arrived late the first of our 4 night stay (I had e-mailed back and forth with them so they knew in advance) When I arrived, there was no parking available that I saw, but the person working the front desk helped me find a place. Next, when we went to check-in, I was told the penthouse that we reserved was not available for our trip due to maintenance. I was told we would get another 2 bedroom apartment, but it was the same except it didn't have a balcony. He agreed to lower my price, so I was OK with it. When we woke up the next morning, we needed to do laundry and the machine kept stopping with a code of 4E which after looking up online meant there was an issue with the water supply. The machine either would never get water, or if I changed the setting to a quick wash...it would go for about 5 minutes (with very little water and the clothes weren't even wet) and get the 4E code. I also noticed while taking a shower, we basically had zero water pressure...it was like taking a shower in a drinking water fountain. I went to the front desk and they sent a maintenance person and another. They said they knew about the water pressure (apparently a trickle of water was going to be acceptable to them), but said I was using the washing machine wrong. 5 minutes later yet again, the machine stopped with the 4E code, and I went back down to the front desk. Again, the same maintenance man came up and I showed him what 4E was on the Samsung manual but he said I was doing something wrong...but he would start the cycle and be right back. 20 minutes later he didn't show, and I went back to the front desk...and the maintenance man was sent back up. I explained what kept happening, and this time he stayed and watched telling me he would replace the machine if it stopped...sure enough 5 minutes later it stopped and he said he would be back in 2 minutes. 30 minutes later I went back to the front desk and the maintenance man was sitting with his lunch at the front desk. At this point I was really frustrated because I'd spent nearly 4 hours trying to get our water issues resolved and finally demanded a new room. I was given a new room...the showers worked, the washing machine worked...and the next 4 days were much better. The main issue we had with that room was despite the room being on a non-smoking floor, a very strong cigarette smell kept coming in through the bathroom and filling the apartment. We basically shut that door the next 4 days and didn't use the bathroom, but there was still a pretty strong odor in the apartment.
I feel this place has potential and has a ton of room which is great for a family. The washing machine is also very helpful...but I was beyond frustrated with the way our issues were dealt with by the front desk and maintenance department at this hotel. The error on the machine was 4E which was a water supply issue according to Samsung, and the showers had no water pressure...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what the issue was and to keep testing the same setting on the washing machine. If they would have offered to move us right away and not kept promising to return quickly and not doing so I would have rated them higher, but I was not happy at all with the service provided here.

Every time I'm coming to Muscat I staying in this hotel. The Hotel is located in good area, surrounded by small shops and only 3-4 min drive from Grand Mall and Avenue Mall. Apartments are clean and tidy. Employees are very friendly and helpfull.

I stayed in this place for two nights, the staff is very helpful and courteous, the place is clean and everything is fine.
The apartment is very spacious and the bedroom was very quiet and equipped with curtains that block 95% of sunlight which guarantees an incredible sleep quality.
Although it is an excellent place yet there are some remarks:
There is no "Do not disturb" sign and the housekeeping staff just try to enter the place even when they are not given permission then they just ring the door bell!
- No alcohol
-No 24 hrs room service
-No dedicating parking space
the price was really good and this is a perfect place for you if you are on a budget

Booked a total of 6 different apartments. Family went over to attend a wedding. Perfect service. Very friendly staff and always on hand to help. Will definitely use again when I'm in Muscat. Would recommend this to all. Great communications from their side.
