Had a very pleasant stay in Jan 2018. Located 10min walk from the Central Station and Red Light Area. Very nice spacious rooms with a gorgeous views (probably the best ones in the city). They also have a sauna and fitness center. Too bad though that they don't have a pool. Free shuttle to the Central Station. Very nice stay. Beautifully decorated hotel. Very quiet.

Greeted by the friendliest staff we have encounter throughout our European trip, we were immediately upgraded to a sleep efficient room on the 14th floor. Equipped with sleep adjustable beds and a sleep pack filled with chocolate, tea, sleep masks, etc, we were absolutely spoiled to the max. The view was spectacular. The bar/restaurant downstairs was wonderful, with incredible staff and great food. The gym was great and the massage facilities are first class. We honestly couldnât fault this hotel, and we would recommend to absolutely anyone

My husband and I stayed at the Movenpick for a weekend bread to Amsterdam. This hotel has a very corporate feel. The reception staff were helpful enough - no complaints. We didn't eat at the hotel as it seemed expensive and we were there to explore Amsterdam. There is a hotel shuttle bus for guests into the city, but as it was only a 15 minute 'ish' walk to the centre, we chose to and eat in the city (lots of places to chose from). We walked to the hotel from Central Station on arrival - doable, but a bit of a trek with suitcases. We used the shuttle bus when leaving and this was prompt and reliable. There is a little cafe style restaurant a few doors down from the Movenpick, but that was terrible (poor selection and syrupy coffee - so best to be avoided). The view from our hotel was amazing - looked over the waterway with lots of shipping creating interest to watch. The room was of a good, clean standard and we very happy with it. However, the beds were so hard I struggled to sleep. You could pay for an upgrade to adjust the setting of the beds (some rooms only I think), but this was expensive. Quite frankly, I think a comfortable bed should be a basic of any hotel room!!!! For this reason, I would not stay at the Movenpick again. I give it two stars only for the great view and location only.
Amsterdam itself is good value and easy to navigate using the trams - buy yourself a 24hr or longer tram ticket for the best value. There is a tram stop about 2 mins walk from the hotel, but a 15 minute walk (short cut under the bridge from the hotel) will take you the centre where there is a tram station.

For 2 out of your 3 day stay, neither the bio or Finnish saunas weâre working, they simply had not been turned on. Posted signs say open and operational from 6am to midnight, not the case, saunas freeing cold, as no one can be bothered, or just too lazy to turn them on ! Would have helped if we could have enjoyed them, if staff canât be bothered to to do simple daily tasks, why should I be bothered to spend my head earned cash with them. Spa facilities nothing more than disappointing.

The rooms are nice and clean. The hotel has some really helpful staff and I certainly recommend you ask them for advice on local transport etc. They really want to help you. The hotel also has some really nice views.
The location is not the best but you can certainly walk to centraal station and there is a tram to to station. You can easily reach the hotel from the airport too using public transport.
The breakfast has a wide selection of food and drinks. It is replenished well and the staff are really helpful.
