Excellent mid-range hotel in quiet area of Mutsu - Ideal central spot of Shimokita

Room quite large by Japanese standards. Hotel virtually deserted during the day, but then absolutely packed in the evening when all the mainly foreign workers return. Wi-fi good enough, but struggled to cope with peak demand in evening times. Breakfast was of a good standard - pretty much what you would expect from a business hotel. About a 10 minute bus ride from Shimokita JR station at cost of 240 yen each way (cash only - no IC cards). Bus terminal about 200 metres from hotel so very convenient. Likewise local supermarket very close and open until 2000hrs. Mutsu is the ideal location to explore the Shimokita peninsula and far north Honshu. We hired a car for two days and saw everything we planned to - Mt Osorezan, Cape Oma and even Aomori city. Great assistance available right next door from the local tourist office as well.
Fabulous business hotel in a quiet, charming town

Getting here may require taking a bus or taxi, but it is well worth it. The rooms are generous by Japanese standards. Hotel staff speak little English, but they are very helpful and resourceful. Breakfast is just the right amount of food (it came included in our booking through a travel website).
The bed is very comfortable (semi-firm double mattress with buckwheat husk and feather filled pillows) and the AC is quiet. Router, extension cables, router cables, blow dryer, water cooker, small refrigerator, and TV are all included. The curtains are almost blackout curtain quality and even though the hotel is right by a bus terminal, you can not hear any traffic noise.
We came here to see Osorezan and were pleasantly surprised with the Children's Nebuta festival (think Aomori or Hirosaki-style floats except made by and pulled by local kids). The festival is much smaller, but all the more cute and perfect for anyone who wants to experience Matsuri without all the huge crowds.
Comfortable Hotel for short stay.

First of all i will say miracle while booking this hotel, I booked this hotel on 1st may (just starting of golden week), i checked all website & didn't get even a single room even at higher price, but at sudden this great hotel pop-up, i must say its bless for me, i was travelling from Yokohama to Mutsu by own car ( around 700 kms) with my wife & 3 year old daughter, we were too much tired, but at-last we get a comfortable stay for one night,
Later at night, due to this looooong drive, i wish to go to onsen, & they guided me well, although this hotel didnt have onsen facility (i will rate it more as business hotel)
Room are Japanese style bit small but good condition, all are clean & no smell, Bathroom & amenities are fine,
Breakfast is only 2 option, Western (Bread) & Japanese type, i do understand due to remote location they can add more variety to breakfast due to wastage,
English level of front desk is so so, but i know basic japanese so for me OK, but for non-japanese it might be hard,
Overall we enjoyed our stay & look forward to visit again to explore Vargin nature of Mutsu area,
Sort of JP Comfort Hotel Like

Clean and friendly. Breakfast toast option fine if you have been eating well. Rooms small, but not so small as some Japanese ones. Take your own portable WiFi router if need be since only cable Lan.
Room warm but can open window so no great hardship. Open free car park, easy walk to town centre.
Perfect stop off on a trip to Osorezan

The Mutsu Park Hotel is one of the few hotels in Mutsu Town. Considering the lack of competition in the area they still provide a great service at reasonable price. A local bus will bring you from the train station to the central Mutsu bus terminal which is only a few minutes away. The hotel is also close to the town and local bars and restaurants. The hotel is clean and tidy, staff are helpful (in English or Japanese) and the rooms a good size by Japanese business hotel standards. Basic breakfast available in the quaint café downstairs (nothing spectacular but fine for a start to the day). All in all, it's a great hotel in a good location.
