I was bowled over by this place!
Bear in mind, whilst reading my review, that I was travelling fairly cheaply bin Northern India and spent a very similar amount of money on most of the small, budget hotels I used.
The standard of these hotels varied more widely than I had expected and The New Chandigarh Holiday Home is right up there with the best.
The house, inside and out, is beautifully decorated and maintained and that standard extends into the rooms. My room was very spacious, tastefully - I might even say luxuriously- furnished, spotlessly clean and well maintained and provided with excellent facilities.
The bed was very large and comfortable. The television looked new and had a very large, high definition screen with many satellite channels. The bathroom was large, bright and pristine.
The hosts could not have been more helpful and welcoming and I immediately felt at home. I was only here for an afternoon and a night as, like many, I had stopped here as a half-way stage between Shimla and Bharatpur. With that in mind, my hosts had devised an itinerary and drawn a map so that I could see as much of their town as possible in that very limited time. I really appreciated that and, in fact, found Chandigarh to be like no other Indian town I've seen. It's full of interest and unexpectedly attractive and appealing. I would happily have spent three days in the city and would, in that case, definitely stay at the superb New Chandigarh Holiday Home.

We arrived after a bad experience in the previous hotel and What a relief ! Happy and Monika welcomes us and made us feel just like home , at first we booked for just one night but we ended up staying 10 days ! I can not recommend this place enough , it is clean , hot water available and the food is very good , they even adapt their cooking to western people by proposing a less spicy version of the meals if you ask for it.

 Incredible staff. The owners treat us extremely helpfully. They were even anricipating to our requests. Guide through the city, helping us booking bua to Dharamshala, own shuttle to city and stations.
A little bit outside, but not a problem at all because the owner will contact you even before your checkin via mail, whatsapp or whatever contact type you have provided to offer you all possibilities for picking you up or dropping you off in stations, interests points...

I stayed there for 2 nights with my French friend. The place is very peaceful and comfortable. Pickup facility was great and helpful. Mr. Suraj communication about booking and stay was very good. Food was delicious and can according to your taste. We didn't have any problem staying there. That was awesome time to stay there. Thank you Mr. Suraj for welcome and your assistance. Have a great time.

The location of this place is such that there is no water flooding around here. The flooding in August 2017 was quite bad in the main parts of Chandigarh. The Capitol complex and other sights are close-by. The area feels safe, clean and quiet. Enough has been said about the hospitality and helpfulness of the owners and all of that is true. The food is great too.
