Set high in the Western Ghats, this peaceful establishment, with beautiful gardens, was a welcome break from the rest of our tour. As birdwatchers, we were overwhelmed with the variety of beautiful birds in the gardens of the hotel. This was a bonus. We had a very large and comfortable room, with balcony and a lovely view over the valley. Even though remote, WIFI worked reasonably. The staff were particularly friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent Indian fare, with interesting variety.

We stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed the stay. The room, upstairs was very large, very clean and comfortable with lovely views over the valley. They are to a high specification. There was a balcony area to the side where you could relax or have meals should you wish. Nice gardens and flowers surround the building. Good breakfast, although the dinner menu was a bit limited but the service was good. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Free WiFi. Good AC. No complaints at all.

Flowers around the hotel are very nice. Other than that, everything is average - not worth the price. Limited options in breakfast. No warmth or smiling faces in staff. Basic average food with very high price. Example 8 pieces of bread with little butter Rs. 570.

I have given location a very high score. We had just spent 10 nights in major cities and Olive Brook is two thirds of the way up a mountain with very few people around. We needed some breathing space, something you don't get much of in a country with over a billion people in it. They gave us a little tour around the estate, showing us cardamom plants, coffee bushes and tea bushes. Pepper growing in its natural habitat. We had a nice quiet room with a little outside sitting area. The hotel has a little restaurant which does breakfast (spice for breakfast I never got used to, stick to toast, omelette and fruit unless you are tougher than me). They also do evening meals which frankly are excellent. You probably won't visit here unless you have a driver but in my opinion its well worth it if you are heading Munnar way for spices, coffee and tea. The staff are excellent by the way.

Beautiful setting in the hills just outside Munnar. Spacious and luxurious rooms with balconies and stunning views. Food was lovely and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Be sure to take the walking tour of the estate as its a great opportunity to find out more about Kerala and its people. Definitely recommend for a very peaceful night's sleep.
