I've just come home from a weeks stay at these apartments, have to admit I almost booked a different apartment before I left due to the bad reviews! Ok they really are in need of updating but our apartment was clean. Well equipped if you wanted to cook. There was no kettle which was the only thing we wanted but when I asked at reception they brought one (and a toaster) the next morning. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Such a fabulous location on the beachfront and a great Italian and Chinese restaurant underneath.

We arrived in salou after delays at Barcelona airport we were delayed by 3 hours no fault of our own .. we were told there was an extra charge for late booking tried calling to say we had been delayed from airport but they didn't answer! we got there to find a note on the door saying "we waited until 2:30 thanks for your consideration"!!!!!! 3 women in a different country stranded with no where to sleep I'm disgusted in the service we received they did not even try to get in touch via email or phone to find out why we were late !! I would give this -20 but there isn't that option I have never been so disgusted

Reception not very helpful .. apartments need up dating .. no air conditioning ... plus no kettle which didn't like as like my cup coffee in morning ... pictures and reviews read before booking wasn't very helpful

Terrible attitude at the start when collecting the keys, the apartment when we got there was not at described. It was definitely not Superior! The apartment was far from clean, and had cockroaches. No washing machine as described until 3 days after we arrived. The balcony was a great size but the table looked like it had been burned by cigarette, there were only 3 plastic chairs and there were 4 of us, the tiles were damaged (not sure how). The bedroom: 2 beds that were cheap and wobbly, difficult to sleep in, however, bed linen clean. Lounge area functional, not cleaned properly, sofa bed ok. TV remote had no back and was sellotaped to keep batteries in place, no English TV. Kitchen: Good clean oven and hob, good clean fridge/freezer. Crockery: plenty of it but 2 saucers chipped ad 1 plate chipped. Strange cutlery, only 1 full sized knife and only 1 dessert spoon, the rest were giant table spoons! 1of the glasses was so filthy that we had to soak it. Saucepans, frying pans all in very good condition. Bathroom: not good this is where the cockroaches lived so taking a shower was scary, the toilet was clean, the sink was clean but the drawers underneath were not good the handles just looked dirty and rusty, towels were good and plentiful.
This apartment was not good and I would not want to stay again or use The Universal Holiday Centre as they were so hostile that we could not even be bothered to go back to complain, we just decided to enjoy our holiday - we spent the majority of our time outside. Eventually by Monday we managed to find someone on reception at the apartments to help us with the wifi connection passwords as the holiday centre told us the wrong information. In my opinion we left this apartment a lot cleaner than we found it and everyone we encountered at this resort was pretty offhand. Bad attitude problem.

Seven of my friends and I booked two apartments for 4 nights, but because we landed late we had to retrieve the keys from a drop off box. This was fine until we reached the apartments, where the night-porter had no word of English and came across quite rude. Eventually he showed us our rooms and they were perfect. Clean, spacious, newly refurbished. We soon realized there as no hair dryer so asked reception if they had one, again the receptionist had no word English and told us there was no reception and came across as rude and condescending. Other than the lack of English, and staff, the apartments are wonderful and I would book again.
