    What People are saying

    Serene, lovely

    RRajasa on 08/01/2018 08:22

We arrived in Cubadak quite late in the evening, Marco and Dominique greeted us very warmly at the jetty and immediately seated us at the dinner table and served us our meal, lovely.

Soon after that Dominique showed us to our cabin. While walkingthe first thing I noticed was how neatly manicured their lawn was, I fell inlove right away.

The wooden cabins were very nice and well maintained, they even prepared a crib for our baby. Superb

The beach was very calm, great for kids to play in. And you can go snorkeling or paddling just off the jetty. Marco can also take you on diving trips

Overall its a very serene and natural place. You even occasionally get visits from the local habitants of the island, we encountered a family of monkeys and wild boar 💓

I always loved meal times, where they served various menus on the table, from Indonesian to european, or fusion of both. And many conversations took place at the dining tables, where guests sat together during every meal.

Well, the Paradiso Village is a very well managed establishmet. Marco and Dominique really are putting much love to the place. Thumbs up!

    Hidden treasure

We went there on Dec 25 - 28, spent 3 nights at the cottage. Our flight was delayed for 2 hours, and we were so hungry on the way to Cubadak. Our driver was very helpful to find a local (Indonesian) restaurant. We stop at Lamun Ombak restaurant, for delicious Padang food. It took 2.5 hours drive with beautiful Padang scenery, and you won't get bored. It was heavy rain when we arrived at the pier. Marco and his team are ready with umbrellas. Around 15 minutes on the boat and we saw Dominique and her team and the dog are ready to help us.
It was amazing to get lost from Jakarta's traffic and hectic life. No TV, no AC and no wifi (only in restaurant). There are only six guests staying and it made our stay more private. The boys can't wait any longer to change the clothes and swim at the open sea. It was chilly and cloudy evening though.
Dinner served at 8.00 pm, lunch at 1.30 pm and breakfast is more flexible until 11.00 a.m. the bell will rang at lunch and dinner. You will sit with other guests (lovely couple from Germany at that time), Dominique and Marco at the same table. Marco and Dominique will explain the food they served. No worries for local travelers, as they provide rice (during lunch) and sambal (not spicy, please have a try).
All food is delicious, and freshly made. One occasion they prepared banana flower curry (gulai jantung pisang), and I was so impressed with the taste. Meat, chicken and fish are also delicious. One night they made coffee ice cream, strong taste, but no worries, you'll get sleep once you reach your cottage.
At day time, my boys are busy canoeing, snorkeling, swimming and we had a chance to hike. They had a nap after the lunch and wake up around 4 to swim again.
If you wish for 5* villa please don't come here. Be careful with monkeys, don't eat and throw your food cup, plastic or else in front of your cottage. Usually the monkeys will come in the morning. Bring your own drink bottle, you can drink from the tap water. They provide clean towels, and clean the cottage in the morning during your breakfast.
Thank you Marco, Dominique and the team, we surely back again, we'll bring coffee :).

Second visit to this beautiful Island and we'll come back again

This was our second visit to Paradiso Village. It was lovely to come back and see Dominique and Marco and doggy who is a new addition since our last visit. We stayed for 7 nights in a beach bungalow right at the end of the beach. It is quite simply paradise and we spent our days snorkelling and diving with Marco which was amazing. The food is plentiful and delicious and we had an amazing time. |We will definitely return again. Thank you both for everything

    Family getaway

A great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of Jakarta. Food was great. We loved snorkelling off the pier. The kids spent hours paddling around the shore. This place was just what I needed for a restful holiday.

    Insect repellent is a must.

    A little piece of paradise

Cubadak Paradiso Village is a secluded beach on a jungle island just off the mainland coast south of Padang. It has a couple of cabanas by the beach, a jetty bar and a central restaurant that serves meals when monsieur Marco rings a bell. Then all guests are seated around big tables together with monsieur and eat what the house has to offer. No menu, but various plates with the most delicious food, indonesian and fusion indo/european. Its a social ritual as well as a nourishing one.
We spent three days here and loved the peace and the friendly atmosphere.
Snorkelling is ok, not too exciting, but sometimes debris floats from the nearby fishing harbour onto the beach, and it's not so nice to go for a swim. That's the only negative aspect, all the rest is bliss.
