We had chosen this hotel as part of a family getaway for two days. We were two adults with two children ages 6 and 9. Upon arrival we realized there was a misunderstanding in the booking reservation, we booked one room, however the staff insisted that each room is only meant for two people, and we would have to book two rooms and the best they could do were two rooms at different ends of the hallway. What was disappointing was not the inconvenience of the arrangement but the way it was dealt with. Throughout the discussion with the staff, we were made to feel that this was entirely our fault and that we should be thankful for whatever arrangement they provide. We definitely did not feel welcomed.
In terms of hotel decor, it was traditional European and some rooms were better than others. There was no attention to detail, one of the rooms had mold in the bathroom ceiling, there was rust on the handles and the reading lamp appeared to be loose and was fixed in place with duct tap.
The kids enjoyed the pool but they have a policy where you take your room towel to the pool and to get a clean one, you have to return what you used to the reception. With two kids, this was a large inconvenience.
We only had breakfast at the hotel and it was good. There were many vegetarian options from yogurt, cereal, breads, cheese etc..

Beautiful hotel. The staff are so helpful and polite. Even to the point of doing everything possible to return items left in the safe to us in the UK, cannot thank them or recommend them enough. Will definitely be back ð

Staid there on the end of october 2017. Hotel is much more attractive on the pcs then in reality. We had twoo rooms, one of the roopms really needs to be repaired. Rooms are very small, in the second room, the head of the bed was just 2 cm from the toilet. There was a kettle in the room but there was not a fridge that really upset me. I think that 4 stars for this hotel it's too much. The hotel has a own parking 7,50⬠night. Breakfast was good but I find it a bit expensive 16,50â¬. Welness area was good, but again I would say need to be repainted ... just too old. There wasn't the drinks area next to the pool.
Perhaps it was a very good hotel many many years ago))) but on my next trip i'll propably stay in another hotel.
Despite all the disadvantages of the hotel, the staff was very frendly!

The Parkhotel in Valkenburg is an excellent hotel near the center of Valkenburg. We stayed in a standard room but it had plenty of luxury. The rooms were very clean and the bed was good.
The breakfast was served at the rooftop of the hotel with a good view across the city.
The hotel has very nice welness facilities and a fitness room with good equipment.
The personnell was very helpfull and friendly and took every effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
With a 5 minutes walk you are in the center of Valkenurg with many restaurants and bars.

Stayed here for Andre Rieu. Andre Rieu was great, but this hotel was disappointing. Felt like an old people's home.
Food is good and wait staff are very friendly and attentive +
Rooms and hotel in general are run down and require a serious upgrade.
Chipped walls, peeling wallpaper, stained carpets.
Uncomfortable single foam mattresses pushed together. Foam filled pillows.
No bench / shelving space to put belongings.
Checkin / checkout process - long cues, with insufficient staff.
Went for breakfast, only to find I couldn't get back into my room because it was 10am. Went to reception, had to line up again - very frustrating.
Whilst in cue, reception staff answering phone - forget the phone girls and clear the cues!
