What People are saying

brilliant place with the lot

Aussiejen55 on 29/11/2017 13:12

This modest little place had us worried when we checked in on a weekend and the street outside was lined with motorbikes. However, once you closed the windows and shutters the street noise disappeared , and we were very comfortable there. Spanish towns can be mental on the weekends...this hotel provided an unusually good night's sleep on both the nights we were there. We loved having access to the communal kitchen, and being able to leave stuff in the fridge. My daughter is vegetarian and had a lot of trouble finding decent meals in Spain as there is meat in everything, (and they seem to think fish is a type of vegetable lol)...some of her best meals on holiday were salads concocted in hotel rooms and the kitchen here was immaculately clean and much appreciated. We also used the "honesty bar' upstairs...a lovely spot and the bottles had smaller profit margin than most places so were reasonable. Staff took every effort to help with transport queries and bent over backwards to help. I wish all the hotels we stayed in while in Spain were as central and comfortable. Internet was good, shower was hot, beds comfie..the cafe next door was humming if you didnt want to self cater...looked good. Great central spot a short walk to the town's attractions.

Overall, a nice 3-star hotel

Okay, I admit it, I usually prefer luxury hotels. But I wasn't at all disappointed by the Polo Hotel, which feels like one of those soft-touch, family-run, country hotels. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Plus Hotel Polo is in a great location; it was very easy to walk from the hotel to all that central Ronda has to offer. Since I took the train to Ronda, I was also glad that I could walk to the hotel in about 14-15 minutes. The only slight drawback for me is that the shower stall, at least in my room, was somewhat tight. A heavy person might not find it workable. Still, that was a minor inconvenience for me, and I would definitely choose the Polo Hotel for a return visit to Ronda.

Beautiful Ronda

Location was excellent. Withing walking distance of all the tourist attractions. Beds were comfortable. Good size room . The asian lady who booked us in was extremely helpful and informative

Kettle in the room would have been nice as if you wanted tea or coffee you had to either go down stairs to a cafe next door to the hotel. ( which I think was part of the hotel ) or go up to the roof terrace where there is a small room you can get tea.water.alcohol etc,but no coffee and there was a price list for these items which you put your room number against and you paid when checking out. ( its honesty system of some sort). However this morning before we were checking out I have daily medicine that I need to take and it's preferable to take this with hot water so I went to the room to boil some water for my medicine. A member of staff refused to let me do this. Even when I explained the reason why, she still refused ( very disappointing. I think a course in customer care might be required for this person ). Her reason for refusing me was that the roof terrace was not open. Now there was a sign saying no access to the roof terrace until 12:00 but the room before you enter the terrace where the kettle, cups, etc are. Had no sign informing customers that this room was not to be used. Moral of the story is if you like a cup of tea.coffee or are in need of hot water in the morning avoid this hotel like the plague

Recommend!

Just back from a trip to Spain. We stayed for two night in Hotel Polo in a triple rooms. The hotel is very conveniently situated and close to lots of restaurants, the bridge, bullring and shops. It's in an elegant building with balconies. Our room was big and airy with a beautiful bathroom with toiletries and hairdryer. It was very clean. Best of all was the too terrace with honesty bar - gorgeous after a day's sightseeing/travelling. The breakfast was good and good value. The hotel also houses a cake shop with fabulous cakes! The only downside is the lack of parking but we found somewhere on a street nearby - probably trickier to do in high season but there are nearby paying options. All in all this hotel is well worth the price - a bargain in fact.

perfect little hotel

We stayed for 3 nights and we found everything about this hotel to be really nice and convenient. Perfect location, a stone throw away from the beautiful Alamenda, the Maestranza and the Plaza del Socorro in the newer part of the town, and 5 min walking from the famous bridge and the old part of the town. Rooms arent very big but will do the trick. Breakfast is served for 5 euros in the downstairs cafeteria. The buffet one is good enough but I dont think you can do it more than 2 days in a row. They do have breakfast a la carte as well. The rooftop is the jewel of the crown, and the "honesty bar" is fun and such a great idea (you have wine and beer and salty little nibbles to choose from, you write down your room number and date in a textbook and pay at the ened of the trip) Ronda really is a hidden gem and deserves 3 nights, considering thay you can also travel the Pueblos Blancos while based in Ronda, and this little hotel was just a perfect gem for us. We have really pleasant memories and would recommend this to anyone.
