Potential but money hungry and poorly managed

I try to review things in relation to their price, high price gets more scrutiney, low price more flexible. With that said for the price they charged us on a Monday and Tuesday stay and the services provided i was beyond displeased. The only thing this place has going for it was a very beautiful view and the bed was actually kind of comfy. Okay to start, we rented the superior room with the water front view. At arrival we needed a roll away for our room as it was my wife, 2 kids and I staying, first off they charged us 325,000rp for the rollaway, I have never paid that much for a roll away back home in america, then their roll away turns out to be a mattress they threw on the floor. The room was basic, tv and bed plus a water pot (which was dirty and I had to wash), no mini fridge, no hair dryer, no clock, broken phone, none of The things you would expect in a luxury hotel. The water pressure in the room was less than desirable, basically a trickle but they did have hot water which was a perk, that's not too common in Indonesia. For the resort, the main big pool which you see in all the pictures was broken and appears to have been broken for a long long time, so guessing some fancy photo shop was used to make it look like it is working on their website, they did have a smaller pool on the other side of the complex which was working. So for the other pool, it's nice, not to big though, what made us angry though is we asked for a towel and they tried to charge us for it, we refused to pay to use a towel as we are paying guests, eventually they gave in and let us use one. For the "restraunt", breakfast is included in the stay but they tried to charge us for another meal because we had a 4th person, we explained that we paid for the extra bed which we were told came with the breakfast and they pushed back, after some time they gave in and we got the meal. So this resort is not within walking distance to the town and it's a small town so no taxi service, if you get dropped off like we were you are stuck there. When it came to dinner we were told they don't offer room service though we had a room service menus in our room!, They even called someone to verify and said "yeah we don't offer room service", how is that possible when you advertise it on your website and you have a menu in the room??? So we asked for the restaurant menu which they said they don't have a restaurant (which they advertise) and they only have their buffet, the buffet which costs 175,000rp which may not seem like a whole lot to us westerners but for Jogja prices is absolutely rediculous! So we are forced to buy their buffet which consisted of cold potato wedges, cold fried noodles and some fish they were starting to cook at 7pm, after we ate dinner. They over charge for everything here, they wanted 85,000rp for a Bingtang, highway robbery! So lastly, the place is still under construction, which they don't tell you on their website or on the phone when you call, so you have to deal with all the construction noise too. For 1,500,000rp in Jogja I expect way more than the service which was provided. The staff was overall friendly but you can tell they were poorly trained, this place can be amazing but it's managed horribly and they are way too money hungry.

This hotel sits on the cliff top overlooking Parangtritis Beach. Sunsets here are perfect. There is a horizon pool overlooking the beach and a grassed area to enjoy the sunset and a cocktail. Very romantic. Dining is open air pavilion style with that stunning view. Hotel has recently been extended and refurbished. Rooms are good size, big bathrooms and all the facilities you would expect. There is direct access to the beach, via many steps! This property is quite remote (they are building a new hotel next door so wont be the peaceful spot it is now for long). When you visit the town, there are NO tourists. You feel like the only people around. Great compared to most of Indonesia. Hotel provides airport transfers at additional cost - it's about an hour and a half from Yogyakarta, but so worth the trip.

We took a taxi all the way from the temples to get a beer and food as had read it was recommended. After long journey we arrived up very windy unmade toad to be told it was not open . Only builders to be seen . Looks like it might be nice once finished but should not be promoted as open and ready for business. And why is it on hotel booking sites ? So frustrating .
Perfect place for Sunset & BEER

Located right down south from Jogja town. Booked a day transport to venture around at IDR500 to Mt Merapi, Parangtritis beach & Queen of the South for sunset & drinks.
Beautiful sunset overlooking the black sand Parangtritis beach. To only patronise the pool side restaurant for fingerfood & beer, you'll be asked to pay a cover charge of IDR200 (incl. non-alc beverage). After much bargaining, we managed to pay for the cover and change our beverage to beer. Even local driver is chargeable for cover.
Total damage for 3pax + 1 driver: IDR350.
P.S. This establishment serves ALCOHOL beverages. wasn't easy buying beer in Jogja. Tedious beer hunt
