Decor feels a bit tired in the rooms, almost like an old communist hotel, and the rooms were very warm. Well placed for the centre, a great breakfast which is worth paying for and very helpful staff. Didn't try the Grillid restaurant on the 8th floor but it gets very well reviewed

We were surprised at how pleasant the walk was from the hotel to town, about 2 km (0.7 mi) away. The staff was friendly. The room was not overly spacious but was adequate, although with very limited space to put luggage. The in-room refrigerator and coffee maker were very nice. The lack of a bathtub, although an uncommon amenity in Iceland, was a disappointment. The availability of free coffee and cold water in the lobby was a nice surprise. Breakfast was beyond expectation, with a wide selection to choose from as well as a nutritional smoothie to add to the assortment of beverages. Our biggest disappointment was the hotel seemed to not be on the distribution list for Reykjavik Excursions busses when they returned from their tours, requiring either we walk from town or wait for a shuttle from the central bus station...after having dropped the other passengers off at their hotels (but that was not the hotel's issue).
Would definitely consider this hotel again, particular as the views were very nice and it provides the opportunity to visit the coastline only 500 meters away.

Disappointed is all I can say.....when I booked the website images were of beautiful modern, newly furnished hotel, however, when we arrived it was the complete opposite...they are in middle of refurbishment, which I wasnât wasnât informed about & the rooms are something from the 80âs. The hotel bar was a pop-up one in reception....the food in the restaurant was cold & very expensive...to say I dissatisfied is an understatement. This trip was for my daughters 18th and has she a photographer this trip was supposed to very special for her...the hotel let it down. But Iceland itself is a beautiful place and I would highly recommend it.

Stayed at the Radisson Blu Saga for 2 nights and overall it was fine. The hotel is very tired but as previously mentioned, it is undergoing a refurbishment. We were not disturbed at all.
Breakfast is very good with a great variety.
The location of this hotel was great for us. It is about a 10-15 min walk into town and we found it pleasant.
A good base and we had great views of the cathedral and the Perlan from our room.
Would we stay again...yes, however, if you want something more than a basic, clean room as a base, I would suggest waiting until after the refurbishment or choosing another hotel.
We were out nearly all day, every day so wasn't a problem for us at all.

This hotel is about a 15 minute walk to city centre- but it is a nice walk not too difficult. The beauty of being outside the city centre was that excursion buses arrived direct to hotel- in city centre hotels they sometimes give you a bus stop to be at- which can mean waiting in the cold for a long time to be picked up. We did not try the food here except for the breakfast which was included and was plentiful and very good standard. We opted for a business class room for the extra space and nespesso coffee maker. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was stacked daily with good quality bath products. In all I would recommend this hotel for a short stay. We were not disturbed by the renovations, but we are out every day and not back until late most evenings.
