I arrived at the hotel with a son who had been ill for 5 days with Bangla belly.
The Staff were so helpful- even taking us to a travel agent to help us book an unscheduled flight home. The room was clean and spacious, some food was available which wasn't spicy which was an enormous help for us.Th free shuttle bus to the Airport was an added bonus.
Fantastic location and fantastic service. We couldn't have asked for more

For the price paid, it is value for money. Woud be good if they reinvested some money and upgraded the place. The staff are a decent bunch except for the airport concierge who is often late and always claim that it is due to traffic. Given the hotel's proximity to the airport and that other hotels much further away are able to greet their customers, that excuse is silly at best.

It is as I said in the title, close to the airport, they offer free transfers, the resturant is more than adequate, I enjoyed the curry dishes most, room is pretty basic but nothing was missing, I would certainly stay there again if I ever wanted to travel from the airport early.
my biggest downside was traffic noise but I heard that everywhere I was in Dhaka.

The hotel is in the Uttara area of Dhaka and is conveniently located about a five minute drive from Hazrat Shajahal International airport. A free shuttle bus is provided by the hotel for its guests to and from the airport. If you inform the hotel beforehand of your flight arrival time â they will arrange to collect you from the airport.
Richmond Hotel is in a residential building block. The entrance area could be improved. I believe that it could be modified to make it look attractive and more welcoming by combining the reception desk and the separate seating area and opening it out so that it is enlarged into a larger lobby/reception area.
My room was facing a busy road â and the noise of the traffic is an issue that could be addressed by installing double glazed windows. I had booked a standard double room through an online hotel booking site â but I was informed by the receptionist that it was in effect a single bed deluxe room. So he kindly allocated me a bigger room.
My first impression of the room was that it looked tired and dated. Management would do well to spruce it up with a fresh coat of paint and replace the carpet. It would benefit from some pictures on the wall. The bathroom was adequate in size. It had a bath tub with a shower attachment, a wash basin and toilet. Some amenities were provided. The bath tub had dark scale marks which could easily be removed with a good scrub and a bathroom cleaner. There was a small seating area by the entrance of the room, which I think would be better moved to the main part of the room. The room was fully air conditioned. It had a mini fridge, a flat screen TV, telephone, divan, single wardrobe and ironing facilities. There was free wifi. The picture quality on the TV was not very good â probably due to bad reception of the satellite dish. The bed had a firm mattress, which I found a bit too hard for my liking as I am used to a softer mattress. I noted a few stains on the duvet cover .The pillows were nice and soft.
My room rate included breakfast. Breakfast was served in the Sierra restaurant located on the fifth floor. Breakfast was buffet style and the items available were, bread for toast, cereals, beans, grilled tomato, thin slices of chicken sausage stir fried with green pepper and onions, stir fried noodles with vegetables, sautéed vegetables, mildly spiced lentils and vegetable curry, omelettes, boiled eggs, chappatis and parathas. Teas, coffees and still water were also available.
The theme in the Richmond Hotel is based on landmarks in London â and on each level of the hotel, there are one or two pictures of London landmarks like Tower bridge, Big Ben, red London bus etc.
There is a room service menu. As with all hotels around the world - the prices are on the high side for this service. There are many restaurants near the hotel which you can try instead.
I believe that the Richmond has the potential to be a very good and sought after hotel. It is conveniently located to the airport, and the provision of a free shuttle bus for its guests to and from the hotel makes it attractive. Management should consider sprucing up the reception area; replacing the carpets in the common areas; renovating the rooms to make the décor pleasing to the eye; and addressing the issue of noisy traffic. If they did this, I think that all the rooms would have full occupancy all the time. The staff are helpful and most can converse in English.

Recently stayed at this Hotel for 2nd time. Had the best On Line Price for nearest location from Dhaka Airport. Happy with the Late night Free Airport Pick Up, friendly & helpful Stuffs, Room Bed- Bedding were reasonably comfortable & Clean. Enjoyed a beautiful Breakfast with Food of Local & International Taste.(no Juice though!) ... & was Free (included in Room price). Morning I had a Free Airport Drop Off also !.... Considering the Booking price ...brilliant !! Definitely it will be my one of best selection in future... again.
