We always walk that street up and down, because we go to Asanoya bakery to buy bread and to Kobayashi jam shop to buy the best cranberry jam in all of Japan.
The street can be crowded on weekends, but is usually very quiet on weekdays.

Interesting town centre half an hour's walk from the main railway station. You pass retail shops along the way, some selling the famous fruit jams but at exorbitant prices and a large, clean public toilet provided some temporary shelter in the continuous rain when we were there. The town itself has many small shops as well as a couple of malls and a wide variety of restaurants. We ate very delicious tempura and soba at one which had an automated ordering machine, near St Paul's Church. Bags of apples and persimmons could be bought from some fruit stalls which also sold vegetables grown in the region. Prices were reasonable. The walk back was more harrowing as it began to rain harder and the famous mist started to obscure parts of the town so we were glad to get back to our hotel before dark.

Lots of things to see and buy. Enjoyed walking and looking at the shops. Nice cafes along this street. Quite expensive but good coffee and snacks.

It's in central of Kyukaruizawa. Quite beautiful shops. Not crowd when we visited. Convenient to walk to pond é²å ´æ± ï¼ just 15 minutes walk.
And, good and beautiful restaurants around.

Even if you donât need anything, go for a walk and check out the stores. There are so many things you donât want to buy that you will buy, that you will enjoy the walk and the free time!
