I don't normally write long and poor reviews but it is hard to do anything else about this hotel!
The positive was the beds are comfortable. That is the only one I can think of.
Please read on for all the negatives.
We arrived and were shown to a nice room but right by a busy road so asked to be moved. The second room was smaller but again by the road, the 3rd room was acceptable on first glance, however
The fridge did not work
The carpet has not been vacuumed
Rubbish on the floor
Bedsheets stained
No complimentary water
Mirror full of finger marks
The next issue was breakfast;
They open at 7am but were not ready at 7.10
Fruit juice was brought out about 7.15
The coffee was Luke warm
There was no butter by the bread
There was am omelette area but no staff to make them
The water had floating bits in
No milk or sugar for the coffee
No teaspoons on saucers
Limited breakfast selection
In summary far from a 4* hotel and we have had much better in 3* on our trip.
We stayed for 2 days and showed our guide the room in the morning of day 2. She explained in local language to reception our problems. On our return in the evening she was very unhappy/cross the room had not been sorted.
WOULD DEFINITELY NOT STAY HERE AGAIN.
Our guide and us are going to advise the tour company not to use this hotel again.

Centrally located hotel in Bukittinggi with very friendly staff. The room was clean, including the bathroom and offered water and the option to make some coffee/tea. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. My room was located at the street side, causing some noises during the night, but nothing too serious.

It was a comfortable stay of 2 night and the room was spacious. For Malaysian, no need to worry because suitable plug point provided.
Breakfast all good it just less option for western menu.
This hotel no lift thus if you have trouble to climb the stairs please choose rooms at lower ground.

This hotel is only 3 star type but good enough for Family stay with WiFi and Swimming Pool. Location closed to "Jam Gadang" Icon of Bukit Tinggi city and Traditional Market also. The condition of Hotel is fairly well appropriate to their age. The breakfast menu is good with many kind foods not only west Sumatra.

Beautiful architecture featuring Minangkabau style, but the hotel is little bit outdated.
- Location is great : near to Panorama Ngarai Sianok & Lobang Jepang, Pasar Atas & Jam Gadang, hospital, Fort de Kock.
- Room is outdated & need refurbishment : the furniture is old, the bathtub full with peeled off paint, old towels, no wifi in room (only in lobby), centralized aircond, but I love the pillow and there is kettle.
- Breakfast is okay : selection of traditional foods like lontong, nasi goreng, mee goreng, bubur, kuih etc. But there are breads & omelette as well for those prefer continental breakfast.
- There is no lift in this hotel, but only 3 floor. So, its better if you could get lower floor rooms.
Understand that they are building newer hotel, but this one need serious refurbishment.
