For the price, it just okay

I stayed for one night in Royal Denai View. The hotel located beside the newer property of the management's, Grand Royal Denai. I used Traveloka to book a room in this hotel, check-in and check-out were very smooth. I got a room in the first floor. The room looked a bit worn out but clean. I hate the carpet flooring of the bed part of the room. It just gave more worn out look to the room. The bathroom was clean. The hot water supply was good, but the shower got leak. The leak made the water pressure not strong enough. The breakfast provided was really horrible. The choices of main dishes only fried rice, fried noodle, or bread. They got some traditional snacks and a plate of sliced watermelon. Coffee and tea available sweetened. The seats in the dining room were so dirty and need serious cleaning. Overall was an okay experience for one night stay.
Perfect Nights Sleep!

We arrived late after looking at a number of other less expensive hotels in town... my partner was in the grip of a nasty flu and feeling terrible so the priority was for peace and quiet and a good nights sleep. All the other hotels had exposure to loud calls to prayer from mosques in the area. Normally that is not a big issue but we were looking for a quiet room. This hotel is only a year old and it is very well built. The decor is a bit over the top but that is soon forgotten when you climb into the huge and very comfy bed. TV programs are a bit limited (they could do better) but the staff were great and the breakfast was fine. This hotel is now on our list for next visit.
Basic & Acceptable

Stayed for 3 nights in January 2017 with my family.
Book the hotel through a local agent there.
Do take note that they have 3 hotels; Royal Denai Hotel, Royal Denai View Hotel & Grand Royal Denai Hotel, which are close to each other. When check-in, there was a bit confusion about the actual hotel that we are staying due to the almost similar name. So just make sure that you be really specific to your driver.
So we got 2 rooms; Room 105 & 107.
105 is a bit bigger and have a better view than 107.
Breakfast was fine even though they almost have the same variety throughout my 4 days there. Not complaining though.
They have room service. Also they provide laundry and clothes ironing services with a small charge.
The good part is they actually make up our rooms every day without our request so it feels good to be back from a long day outside to a clean tidy room.
Lastly, the staff is quite helpful and friendly. Always smiling. :)
This is a 2-stars hotel. Based on my experience; the service, amenities and location, it definitely deserve the 2-stars. Hope it will push itself to get a 3 in the future.
Dirty and oldfashioned

We booked for 2 nights. Room was very very out of date, stinks And particulary dirty (might not have seen a hoover since a few months). On the Floor you have carpet from prehistory. In contrast, lobby And breakfastroom were nice. Staff very friendly And helpfull . We got an upgrade but unfortunately... Photos will speak fir themseves. I do not recommand this hotel . For the same price you can find better next door.
New hotel in strategic location

Room is cozy, everything are clean, good location, the staffs not very helpful though. When i said good location, i mean it located near the canyon, the clock tower "jam gadang", the fort de kock, the zoo. Those are in walk-able distance.
Breakfast are great. Most of them are local delicacy. So if you need cereal for breakfast, you should ask them the day before.
If you need WiFI conection, ask for room which near the elevator.
I need to mention this to the for all foreigner who never been to this city. No modern store, No restaurant on fasting month, all are locals but you can still find essential stuff on the grocery store.
"patung polwan" intersection has the best hawker for dinner.
