Excellent New Year stay

We stayed for 3 weeks over new year and could not fault it. The rooms were really nice cleaned every day and quite modern really spacious large shower room and an actual balcony we could sit on. The breakfast was basic but fine for what we needed coffee toast and eggs any way you wanted then. All the staff and even security on the gate we're really pleasant and could not do enough for you.
Over all would not hesitate in staying here again as is ideally situated for all the bars restaurants and beaches.
Another honest review

Last year we ate here a few times both for breakfast and diner. Sorry to say this year not as good. Only had 1 breakfast and basic. Service was not up to what it was last year causing us to complain. We did return but again meal not great. What a shame it use to be our favourite eating place. All I can say is goes outside ate well. Sorry.

Typical British Food from Sunday lunch to Pie and mash.
Well presented and reasonable Quality at good price
Book your table in advance to guarantee getting a table as usually quite full.
Full of British on holiday abroad that don't like foreign food

Stayed at the whispering palms hotel in February 2017 my 1st time in Goa and when we were here we knew it wouldn't be our last the hotel was nice but as I'd never been before I played safe. The only time we were in the hotel was to shower change and sleep. We are currently coming towards the end of our next stay in Goa and I can honestly say that I'm paying less than a 1/3 of the price of the hotel I first stayed in and we will be back to Goa sooner rather than later. The accommodation were staying in is perfect couldn't be happier with the hotel and staff. Full English breakfast on a morning sets us up for the Day ahead and is as good as any English breakfast I buy at home. If you eat out mostly as we do but fancy some real English food then I wouldn't go anywhere else as this is mainly what this hotel caters for. Can't fault it in anyway shape or form.
Terrible service, unpleasant stay

The hotel boasts a 2 min walk to the beach which definitely isn't true. More like 10. Honesty goes a long way...
Check in was like an immigration check. My passport was examined for almost 10 minutes. The room was set right at the back of the hotel. It was dirty- the cushions had marks on them, the sheets felt unclean, no toilet roll, no soap, no water even. In fact water was never provided free. The sink was full of ants. The water was cold. Our fan wasn't working either. The door knob broke and we called the on-sight handyman to fix this and the fan. When it became apparent that the repairs weren't going to be possible quickly, we requested a room change which thankfully was agreed.
We moved rooms to a smaller but better room overlooking the main pool. However, cleanliness isn't this hotel's priority that's for sure. The sheets had marks. The air con hardly worked and at 5am for 3 hrs, there was a ringing, very much like an alarm, which was infuriating. Our room wasn't cleaned that first night in the new room. ð¡ No fresh towels... And the toilet was broken.
The security guard was rude when we asked about parking. We know there was nothing at the hotel but a bit of advice on nearby parking is all we wanted. The list seems endless.
This hotel will do little by way of any action on my complaints. I know they capitalise on the location- it's right in the midst of the action in Candolim. Such a shame because it has potential to be a luxury spot.
