Well appointed room, fantastic location in the heart of Auckland. Walking distance to the Fuellers Ferries. Awesome breakfast, love the variety. Sons loved the pncake making machine. Very professional staff on check in and very help.

Nice quiet location with not a lot of traffic coming past. Handy to Skycity which is just up the road plus Queen Street, supermarkets & various eating options all within 5 min walk. A leisurely 10 minute walk will get you to the wharf and large variety of eating & nitelife options.
The Rydges Dream Beds are one of the best I've experienced during my travels and I will usually choose a Ryges hotel over other options if A rydges is available in the area I am staying.

We were on a tour of New Zealand with APT and so the hotel was pre chosen for us. it is situated right by the Sky Needle and about 15 minutes walk to the harbour front. Check in was swift and efficient. We stayed here twice during our tour and so my review covers both stays. Both rooms we had were of a good size, mini bar was in the room with I must say an excellent selection of beverages and food. The usual ironing board and amenities such as tea and coffee were available. Our first room had a wet room and the second a bath/ shower.
Breakfast was a treat and I must say one of the best breakfasts in any hotel I have stayed in around the world, a great selection of pretty much everything.
We had dinner on one of the nights with our tour and again the food was very good indeed.
Definitely a well positioned hotel, as stated just a block away from the Sky Needle. A good choice of hotel by our tour operator.

The Hotel is well located and the staff very friendly. We were on a high floor which had good views.
At around 4am on our first night, the Hotel alarm system went off and we had to evacuate immediately. We arrived back at our room at about 5am.Being barefoot in Auckland is not a good experience.An American in front of us said it was his fourth evacuation. The next night was trouble free but we again had to evacuate in the morning, in the rain.The staff explained someone was smoking in the corridor and set off the alarm.I recommend that when you go to bed have your shoes and warm clothes close by.

Stayed here for just one night. The hotel is well located for the centre of Auckland, the restaurants near the harbour and the Skytower. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. However, the room was a bit "tired " and could have done with upgrading. We had a deluxe city view room but I could not really describe the room as deluxe and the city view consisted of views of other tower blocks. We didn't bother with breakfast as there was a queue to get into the dining room so we went to a branch of Denny's just around the corner and had an excellent breakfast for a fraction of the cost.
