We have just had a well cooked Sunday lunch in a truly welcoming pub. Perfect end to our walk. The bar area is cosy with an open fire and we were looked after by a charming member of staff. This is definitely one to revisit and I look forward the new year when they start cooking six days a week.

We went here for lunch on a lovely sunny day. Stopped after a mornings walk. Had the nicest home made burger it was so tasty. We sat in the garden at the back it was beautiful with the country back ground to look at.

A group of us from the Drewsteignton retired educated gentelmens society (Dregs) had a 4 hour lunch there last month. We were the first people to eat there on the day the kitchen opened. The food was excellent with a great choice of wines and whiskeys. We had a warm welcome and experianced the high standard of service that we have been accustomed too. We shall return again next year. There is limited parking outside the pub but plenty of space down the lane to chagford can be had if you park close to the wall.

Stumbled across the Sandy Park Inn when taking a scenic route across Dartmoor, rather than using the A30. I'm so glad we did. It's plain, old and clean, with a nice atmosphere, welcoming staff, and a decent cook, from our experience with some basic pub grub.
The beer was fine for my tastes, and the overall experience was a perfectly pleasant one, which I wouldn't mind repeating when I'm next in the area.
I know that boozers are closing at an alarming rate, but I certainly hope that establishments like this are around for a long time to come.

The Sandy Park Inn has now re - opened and us looking good.
No old world plastic trimmings here, just as it has always been - apart from the quality of the stock.
A good selection of priming whisky, gin an vodka. Both local and international.
The ale (three from the cask) in tip top condition and some proper cider.
No food as yet, but in the planning.
Dogs welcome, open fire, quite snug and fine bar, all with a chat and a smile!
Take the trouble to park and drop in well worth a visit.
