Staggered that this was part of the Taj group. Expected more comfort and luxury. Very basic but clean rooms. Lots of character, and the staff tried their best to make it a good experience. Shocking Wi-fi speeds and unreliable.

Great Hotel.

Personable and efficient staff.
No views.
Entry is through a narrow lane.
Too many foreign tourist buses (groups of 25 to 35) always on the property.
The toiletries are shared with sister hotel (Gateway Hotel Coonoor) - so you have the same hotel brand packaging available here too.

Excellent hotel, excellent staff and lovely ambience. A mixture of history and comfort. The staff are totally dedicated and delight with their personalised service. The Manager Mr Ansari is an excellent host and the Chef Nishikant dishes out delectable fare and doesn't disappoint. weather is excellent throughout the year and rooms are very very beautiful. I have stayed here with family in every season and found it absolutely enjoyable and refreshing. we are just back from the Savoy and already planning the next outing.

We booked our two nights stay at Taj- Savoy with breakfast and dinner through Southall Travels in London.
On arrival from Bangore, we were impressed by building and gardens. My wife and I stayed in a superior room facing beautifully view of valley. Peaceful atmosphere reminding us it's past glory. Room with modern amminities including veranda and private lawn. It was cold in the evening on our arrival. Staff very kindly offered to light a log fire but we tried to conserve the energy.
Second evening, we decided to have drinks in the garden. Satender- Bar man arranged a table with white table cloth and served Red and White Wine - How romantic - as you see in films - just for two of us.
We thoroughly enjoyed variety of foods while enjoying music played by Geroge.
Throughout our stay, Mr Ansari came to see us personally.
We will like to thank Mr On Prakash- Food and Beverage Manager for providing excellent dishes and breakfast, Satender - Barman for arranging drinks, George- Pionist ( though Piono was not working) for entertainment and Mr Ansari - Manager for making our stay memorable and comfortable.
If you like old traditional English Style with modern amminities, this is the certainly the place for you.

from the moment v entered till the time v checked out Mr.bharthi took very good care of us..he took care of all the arrangements, food was taken care of, he made us play amazing games n entertained our kids thoroughly!!
Even Mr.Prakash & Mr.Praveen took care of all our needs..
