Me and my sister stayed at the Shaftesbury for 3 nights and our experience was definitely positive.
First, the position is so convenient, with two underground stations within 2 minutes walk. We chose this accommodation to be able to avoid public transports as much as we could, as from there you can walk to Notting Hill, Kensington High St and Oxford St, just to name a few.
The room was tiny but very comfortable, and, more importantly, super clean! We were very impressed with how clean the whole building was. The staff was kind and helpful.
This was by far the best hotel I've seen in London and I would definitely recommend it!

This was a very nice hotel, and I really loved that it was steps away from two different subway stops. Bayswater and Queensway. This gave a lot of options for getting around London. It was also in a great section of London which is safe to walk around all hours and there are tons of restaurants and cafes.
The check in was fine, although the front desk was not exceptionally friendly. In fact they barely said a few words besides asking me for my info and payment.
Room was clean and well appointed. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was very small, but totally fine. Towels were soft and amenities were good.
Breakfast was not appetizing at all, and after the first morning, we didn't bother going back the next two mornings. Looking back on it, we should have gone back because breakfast/food was not really that good anywhere we were were in London.
All in all, this was a great value and I would return if the price dictated it, otherwise I would be willing to try another hotel.

I did my fair share of researching this hotel before booking it, reading through and looking at dozens of photos to make sure our room would be big enough for two tall people. I have to say, the photos are misleading and give the illusion of space. The reality is it simply doesn't fit two people with luggage. I had to store my suitcase over the wardrobe and clothes on the floor as the wardrobe simply didn't have enough space for both of us. The bed was a tiny double, and the room is crammed with furniture, so much so that we couldn't sit at the desk because the corridor is so small, and it was generally a very claustrophobic room. The staff was friendly and moderately competent, and the location was perfect, just around the corner from Bayswater station. However, we could hear our next door neighbours as soon as they woke up and talked in their rooms, so if you're a light sleeper, you'll be up at 6:30 every morning. I can't stress how disappointed I was in the room, we booked a club room, which was more expensive than the standard, based on the promise that it would give us more space. How about you remove the furniture and just leave the bed and cupboard? I wouldn't recommend this to couples above 174cm tall, and definitely not for more than one night.

As loyal customer shall i say this the best hotel of all times , i stayed in room 004 and it was the perfect for me , the hotel staff wes so helpful and respectful and kind , rasvan , maria , korina , artur , alex , olga , they were so friendly and fun , the hepled in booking the room and treat like im not a stranger , i really appreciate the service , i will be loyal to this hotel , never ever found a service like this .

My daughter and I stayed here for 7 nights during January. Very helpful staff, rooms are clean and well appointed. The location is very convenient and less than a 5 minute walk to either Bayswater or Queensway tube station. I would recommend it as a very good base to explore London.
