I have stayed here alone for 3 nights and my friend comes from another city and stayed together for 2 nights. Beds and pillows are comfortable enough. The breakfast is ok. But the staffs are superb and very friendly at giving services. Also, the location-wise is pretty good as it is walkable to the Shin-Osaka JR and subway station.

Shin Osaka Station hotel Honkan is about a 10min walk after you exit the shin Osaka station gates. There is a lift right next to the stairs if you are carrying heavy items. Follow the row of restaurants and turn left into a smaller road, which is where you will see the hotel entrance featured in their promotional brochures.
We stayed over 2 different stretches in our trip and both rooms were as expected - small but serviceable and with all amenities. The walls are very thin and you might hear some coughing and toilets flushing, but our neighbors were discreet as well and there was no major disturbance. Toothbrushes were given in the room, but facial amenities like cleansers and toners were by the reception counter.
The receptionists we encountered all understood and spoke English. For common questions, they even had a folder with the questions and answers to refer to and show you, which eliminates any miscommunications.
Breakfast is a choice of Western (sandwiches like egg mayo, ham and cheese) or Japanese (eggs prepared the Japanese style and a thin sliver of fish) sets. These are presented to you on a tray. You can also help yourself to a buffet of salads, rice, tofu, Japanese soups (which changed every day).
This is a good choice if you want to be near the JR station and don't want any place too exorbitantly priced.

I heard room is small but Room was not to small for us and nice reception team and good condition as well as useful amenity. Also nearby Shin Åsaka station. A lot of nice restaurants nearby. I want to buck again.Highly recommended.

We stayed here because itâs close to Shin-Osaka station where you can catch Shinkansen and local trains going anywhere using our unlimited JR pass. At first when we arrived we got lost finding the hotel. Staffs were friendly. Itâs a small room with small bathroom but it didnât worry us. We were out all day and came back only to rest, sleep and shower. Itâs clean and we slept well at night with no noise from the train. It has vending machines and coin laundry and dryer which were really good. Breakfast was average though not a lot of variety. Best of all itâs a good place for short stay!

I booked at the other hotel at that time, but because of something happen, i can't stay at that hotel, so i booked at Shin Osaka Station hotel via booking.com at 1 am in the morning when i arrive in Osaka. I was travelling with my 2 friends, so it's 3 of us.
When i booked it for Oct 2 - 3, 2017, i couldn't find the room for 3 persons, so i booked a room for 2 persons and hope that i can upgrade it with extra bed. But The fact is the room is really small, so i decided to upgrade the room for 3 persons.
The next day, when we back to hotel in the evening, the reception at the front desk asked us for the bfast menu, and when i back to my room, she said angrily to my friend who still in the downstairs and said that she saw it's 3 of us but we booked a room for 2 persons,, so she asked my friend that one of us has to leave the room, otherwise she would call the police !!
When i talked and explained to her, she started to checked my reservation and surprised when she knew that i have paid the bill from the 1st day and it's for 3 persons!!
What a rude attitude!!!
