Silver oak is for the people who love nature and wanted to explore nature by being part of it. Mr. Bob ( Sudesh ) who after completeing his MBA in marketing headed back to Coorg to take care of his first love nature. He is part of few NGOs which is mainly devoted to nature preservation and rainwater harvesting besides developing of tribals. The care is taken to build sillveroak without cutting single nature tree from the site. The family is known for the warm hospitality and social work in the local community and you will have true experience of being with nature to unwind from your daily busy life. Coorg is bordered by the legendary river Cauvery. Coorg has its own curious mixture of population, a clan of warriors and tribals. The warrior clan is the Kodavas. Legend says that they are descendants of the soldiers of Alexander the Great, who invaded India in 327 BC. Coorg Hill station famous for its hosiptality for the guests with variety of accommodations options like Home Stay, Holiday Homes, Lodges and Resorts sorrounded by the beautiful hills and Cofee estate .

If you want a calm, quiet, peaceful place to spend your holidays away from the madness and noise within reasonable budget, this is a perfect location at Coorg. The resort is covered with lush greenery adjacent to a small duck pond, which you can enjoy sitting in the balcony with a sip of a drink of your choice. If you want to explore Coorg, arrangements can be made as per your convenience and budget though the rate is fixed and competitive. They will give you options to choose sightseeing places and you can visit as per your choice. Else you can enjoy staying at the resort and enjoy itâs swimming pool, small gym, carrom/ table tennis and more. You can take cycle from them and explore local sightseeing places if you wish.

How to get there:
From Mysore: You can ride KSRTC buses from Mysore bus stand and should get down at GONIKOPPAL. From Gonikoppal take an auto to reach Silver Oak Resort at Rs. 150/- (approx. 10 kms). From Mysore to Gonikoppal it will take approx. 3 hours to reach. Ticket price is Rs. 90 per head.
You can hire a cab from Mysore and reach Silver Oak Resort at 2.5 hours. It will cost you approx. Rs. 2200/- for small cab (viz. Tata Indica).
From Bengaluru: You can ride KSRTC/ private buses from Bengaluru and reach GONIKOPPAL. From Gonikoppal take an auto to reach Silver Oak Resort at Rs. 150/- (approx. 10 kms.). From Bengaluru to Gonikoppal it will take approx. 5.5 hours to reach. Ticket price varies from Rs. 215 to Rs. 500. Please check online for timing/ price.
You can hire a cab from Bengaluru and reach Silver Oak Resort at 4.5 hours. It will cost you approx. Rs. 6000/- to and from.
Cottage Tariff & Fooding:
The cottage rent is Rs. 2500/- for two adults and one child (up to 5 years) per night which includes breakfast as well. The room consists of one big bed, one sofa, table, two single beds, TV and fan. The balcony is a good time pass for nature lovers. For lunch and dinner, you have to tell your preference of veg/ non veg and they will prepare accordingly. The lunch and dinner are served in buffet which cost Rs. 200/- per head.
Sightseeing:
By car, by trek, by walk/ cycling as per choice. If you hire a car, you can see 4-5 places max in a day at a cost Rs. 2000/- approx. for small cab. If you visit Dubara Elephant Camp, try to reach there by 9.30 AM else you may miss bathing/ feeding the elephant. If you need details you can write to me.

Good stay with reasonable price. Food was okay. it can be little better. Could see little frogs in washroom. It takes long time to reach the place as it is away from main city.
Travel tiredness will run away after seeing the pleasant place.

We were 3 families visiting this place with 6 kids.
I chose this place after considerable research and it lives up to expectations.
Making a reservation was a breeze.
On the day of arrival, Bob, the proprietor, sent detailed directions through SMS and we didn't need to stop for 1 time all the way from Nagarhole.
He inquired about our lunch requirement and it was ready by the time we arrived.
Checking in was breeze again.
The property is in a coffee estate surrounded by fields and lot of greenery.
There is a man made lake facing the cottages and there is a paddle boat inside, lot of fun.
Food is cooked on property and is pretty good(hard core foodies may expect more).
All the staff were polite and friendly.
Lathan, the property manager gave us perfect maps to all attractions around and during all our trips we didnt need to stop at all.
Now comes the best part of hospitality.
One of my friends broke his wrist after slipping at Kaveri river at Nisargadama.
I called Bob and he immediately found his friend in Gonikoppa town who is an orthopedic surgeon.
Within an hour's drive we were at his hospital and my friend was very well taken care of by the doctor who was waiting for us.
Bob drops by himself to inquire about his guest and offers us his car and any cash.
The next day my friend and his wife remained at room walking about the estate while we visited dubare and golden temple.
Its a pity we didnt get to explore the treks and hikes around the resort.
Bob is very clear about what to expect at his place and all the details are clearly mentioned in his reservation emails including distances of attraction from the resort.
Pricing is very reasonable, probably the best you can find at this price.
One con that I discussed with Lathan.
Guests happen to break all the swimming pool rules and there doesn't seem to be enough man power to enforce the rules.
Seemingly it is pretty difficult to find people at Coorg.
Over all a total thumbs up.

Best Place..Perfect Budget Resort.
The best part of this resort is, it is surrounded by beautiful fields and a LAKE. A Morning walk is a must in this resort. The pool was maintained very well. The only disappointment is that we couldnt able to get the bubble for my 15months old baby, who is very fond of water. We couldnt able to control him when we swim.
The staff at silveroaks was so good and served us very well.
The food options are very minimal, but all the items provided in the buffet tastes so good.

I went with my family to coorg and I must say it was the best place to stay.This resort is like best place we got to stay even at the last moment. The hospitality, the food and the amenities available are just superb. you can go with your family just to stay at the resort alone for 2-3 days. The view from the cottage is very beautifulu early in the morning. Its like staying amidst the nature. Chirping of the birds, the cycle rides to nearby lake, the sounds of swans/ducks in the lake, morning breakfast everything is so fulfilling and worth a visit. I am hoping to go back to this resort again to experience the beauty again :)
