Refurbished historic hotel, the room is clean and new furnishings, excellent water views. The wifi was slow and barely usable.
The restaurant food wasn't consistent, the Highland beef was perfectly cooked but the salmon was over cooked. Overall it was an enjoyable dining experience.

This was a family visit for lunch. The hotel is on the Isle of Skye, in beautiful grounds and on the edge of a Loch. The welcome was warm, and the staff were helpful and attentive. I had the tomato and lentil soup with croutons which was full of flavour. I followed with ale battered haddock with chips, cooked to perfection. No room for dessert! Others enjoyed mackerel pate, the haddock, turkey with all the trimmings, cheeseboard, and Christmas pudding. The latter should have come with warm brandy sauce, but it instead came with chantilly cream with some brandy in it! All in all it was a very good experience, and I would definitely recommend it.

Upon my arrival I looked at the building and thought, this looks promising. However when you get inside itâs cosy with the old fashioned feel of Scotland just how buildings were built many years ago. Itâs very clean and well maintained throughout. My room no 5 was fantastic, being massive with an old style bed and the bathroom was huge with a big cast iron bath ideal for tall people.
The staff were extremely friendly and very polite, well dressed and always willing to help. The restaurant supervisor Phillip was a very helpful chap wanting to make your experience pleasant. The only this I didnât like was the limited menu for dinner, however breakfast is fantastic with lots of choices.
A great location in the summer or winter and only 5 miles from Portree.

Stayed on Saturday 2nd December as a base to explore and visit the different locations around the island-was certainly impressed as soon as we arrived, cosily lit and ambient reception hall with roaring fire adjacent. Greeted by John and shown around the house we were quick to notice the nostalgic west highland hospitality that genuinely MADE the stay what it was. Considering it the trip was to reminisce where my parents took me often as a child-it evoked so many memories which I think is just wonderful. The suite also followed suit with period style charm and topped off with what has to be the most amazing 4 poster king size! It really has to be done on an atmospheric(terrible weather) night to appreciate such things as a whisky in the drawing room to really feel what cannot be bought ie. Hilton/Raddison but obviously what comes down to refined hoteliers and their attentive and professional staff in what seems to be a dying breed of hospitality(west highland) which Iâm so glad to say is still very much apparent!

For a 3 Star Hotel this is an excellent deal!
Attentive staff, charming Scottish decor through out the hotel, lovely conservatory restaurant. Stayed in the newly built loch view bedrooms with patios - very modern and comfortable.
Ate in the restaurant - foodie level quality and Phillippe the sommelier gave great wine recommendations. Staff arranged taxis for other restaurants and gave great recommendations of places to visit. Will definitely stay again on next visit to Skye!
