Arrived at 8am after an overnight train journey from Madurai, staff apologised that room wasnât ready but it would be by 11am!! We only stayed 1night but this sums up exactly how thoughtful and helpful every member of the hotel team were. Private Beach was great, with sunloungers and umbrella for hire very cheaply. Ate in the restaurant, wide variety of a la carte or buffet style food available. Rooms are simple but spacious and with a large balcony. Delighted that the WiFi was sporadic I read a book instead!! Perfect beach location.

Pros:
Location is great. Walking distance to Light house and the main beach market.
Have their own private beach, where you can enjoy with no public crowd.
Cons:
Standard rooms are not spacious. View from room balcony are obstructed by palm trees.
Resort do not have liquor license, so carry your beer and booze from outside.
Management will not even help to chill the beer. Though you can enjoy coffee and tea in a holiday place like this :D
Food taste is okay okay. Breakfast was full of south Indian dishes, not much options other than those.

We just spent Christmas & New Year at Soma Palmshore and had the best time. We are a family ranging in age from 21 to 80yrs and everybody loved it. The staff here are just the best - so friendly and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. For breakfast you can have anything you like - if it's not there just ask & they sort it out - my family like masala dosas and had them most mornings. The Ayuverda team are great - the lovely doctor puts a package together so you can try a variety of treatments. My dad is 80yrs and his mobility was vastly improved after his stay - the massages made him feel much better and he managed the steps no problem at all. We loved the beach - it's not as busy as Lighthouse so better for us - dad could get back to his room for a cup of tea and a sleep. The beach is very clean - Saeed & his boys make sure you have a sunned and an umbrella if you need one - they will get bottled water if you need it & brings lovely plates of fresh fruit salad for lunch. We had the best time & can't wait to go back - February if we can sneak off work. Thank you from all of my family - we really felt at home at your hotel and hopefully we'll see you soon

Stay at soma palmshore for two nights.very old property needs urgent renovation.no room safe no electric cattle only soap and shampoo is given in bathroom. Taps are leaking.some time hot water is coming some time not.Tarriff is very high comparing to room facilites.service is very slow..you had to remind them 3 or 4 times after order.No satisfactory reply from staff.breakfast is very average.tasteless.please avoid the property.It has a nice location.but i think that they do not want to run the property.
