Resort at an awesome location

Visited this resort with family during June 17 end. The biggest plus point of the stay is the location of the resort. One gets a spectacular view of the sea from the rooms at first floor. The rooms were ok, the food was good and the staff was courteous. Few things that need improvement- cleanliness of the beach and rooms. Safety- There is no lifeguard appointed for the beach and pool, since the sea is a little rough at this place a lifeguard is a must. In the room the plug points were not working, hand towel were not there in the room, only one water bottle was given in a double occupancy room, however all these things were fixed when raised. Overall a good experience.

Two Days at the St James Court Beach Resort

We booked the St James Court Beach Resort because the rest of the resorts around pondy where full due to New Year's. Room for the Night costed us 6000 rupees per head was a little pricy but i reckoned it would be a classy resort but was highly disappointed.

1. The resort is average looking, not much facilities other than a average swimming pool.
2. The food in the restaurant was poor, no salt and to put it right on the face was tasteless.
3. Our room was stinky, we called in for some room fresheners which arrived hours later.
4. The Bread Spread was dirty ! Yes you heard me right i think they did not clean up the room after it was vacated earlier. Major Miss !
5. The Beach does not belong to the resort meaning, you will find some fisherman, locals around also the beach access is only upto 6.30 PM, so much for a beach resort right.
6. Half Hour drive to the main city of Pondi from this place.

PROS:
1. The Room sizes are bigger, more than enough for three people.

Standard Rooms with Great View of Beach

Location is great and we loved the resort.

Pros
Well Trained staff and the Manager is also great
Pool is very clean
We can have morning walk to the beach without any crowd or outsiders
Food is good and tasty

Cons:
Breakfast could have been better
Food is overpriced

Very worst especially the room service and cleanliness. Full of bugs and stinks badly. Food was okay. But not worth spending money here as family. Location was good as it is nearby shore. We have a pool but not so neat.

Let me be precise:
Pros:
1. Good location, beach facing rooms with balconies
2. Quite calm resort with garden, lawn, swimming pool
3. Kitchen staffs are helpful
4. Children play area
5. Separate pools for ladies and kids
6. Basketball court
7. Descent complimentary breakfast

Cons:
1. Located far away from City centre.
2. Mostly untrained staff, huge language problem
3. Room service needs to improve a lot
4. Very unprofessional attitude of staff in front desk.
5. No private beach, there is a gate which will give direct access to the beach, but thats ok
6. No/very few English/National channels available on tv
7. No wi fi in rooms
8. Over priced restaurant/room service

Overall the location is good, just next to beach. But its around 12 Kms from the City centre and you need to spend around INR 250 one way to reach there. They Need to hire some well trained and professional staffs who can maintain the property well and give a delightful service.The reception needs a more credible and well trained people.
It may be recommended for a family/couples if you are ok to adjust/forgo the cons.
