What a great place. They were extremely accommodating people, everything was made to be perfect from the room to the breakfast. They just couldn't do enough for me. The room was a nice size, and very warm with a good shower. Breakfast was brilliant. Thanks very much, will be coming back!

My husband booked this as it was about half way for our trip to Glasgow...the outside is bad enough with the fake flowers in the window boxes but when I got to the room I was astounded .. it was filthy ... about a centimetre of dust on the ceiling lamp.. the window sills were black mouldy the bedside table and dresser were filthy and stained with tea and had just had a bit of fabric put over it to cover it up the curtains were rotton ... the top corner of the ceiling had cobwebs and fluff hanging down .. the bathroom lino was badly stained too ...
With regards to a previous comment about them sacking the cleaner all I can think is that they havnt had 1 for months I would advise people to give this place a wide berth

First eating out on Christmas Day and I was not disappointed. Bev,Tony and all the staff made it a lovely experince, beautiful food, service and warmth from everyone, no rushing, and lready booked for next year, thank you all so much!

Chose this hotel to stay for the weekend whilst going to a friends wedding. Have to say my partner and I really liked the room. Unlike similar older hotels like this one the room was really warm and cosy. The bed was comfortable too! In addition we were really surprised with the water pressure in that you could run a bath easily in 2-3 minutes! Even the WIFI was spot on! Have to say we only booked the room so can't comment on the food however staff were warm and welcoming. ONE WORD OF WARNING! Make sure you read the sign above the toilet regarding use of wipes etc as we nearly fell foul but all good! All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a warm, clean and inviting value for money hotel!

Booked this hotel as a half way point overnight stay. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Having read previous reviews I was concerned about the parking situation as there is no official car park with the hotel and we had a car parked full of my sons belongings. We were given advice on parking options and chose to go with the Bluebell car park literally minutes drive from the hotel. Due to our late arrival and early departure (7pm - 7am) we had no parking fees and no problems with parking. We had the 3 bed room which was sufficient for our needs but tbh in need of updating and redecorating. I would stay here again as a stopover because of its convenient location and warm welcome but wouldn't expect too much from the rooms.
