Last minute plan to visit Belur with extended family n the only resort option available was riverdale . We were little doubtful as it was 2 star resort but booked it reading the positives !!!we are so happy we got to stay here ðclean n green !! Lovely views from room !! Food was the best , homely ,limited menu but everything was very tasty !! Loved it , we never knew tat this budget holiday will turn out to be the best !! Definitely planning to visit again for the greenery in resort n food ðð

This is a nice resort close to Bangalore. It is close to Hassan and enjoys good weather through the year. It is near a scenic check dam adding to the beauty of the place.
The staff were nice and helpful.
It is very good value for money. There is ample space for kids to run around and play and it also has a swimming pool.

I booked this resort from MakeMyTrip.com and got it for Rs 3,200 for one night. This included complimentary dinner and breakfast.
Location: Riverdale Resort has a really good location. Not very far (hardly 300 metres) from the main highway connecting Hassan and Mysore. The approach road is also fine where you have to cross a level crossing. The resort is nestled among beautiful plantations and farms. A small dam named Sri Ramadevara Katte is located hardly 200 metres from the resort which is a big plus for the location.
Rooms: As the name of the resort says Stay Simple, they really mean it. The room and the bathroom were quite big with nice sloping roofs but the management can definitely do a better job at the upkeep of the rooms. The paint on the doors and the walls was falling off, the door locks were in a very frail condition, the room key had no key chain, the intercom was not working. The room which I was allotted (103) had no room number on the door. The bathroom fittings were also leaky and not maintained as required at a resort. Apart from these shortcomings, there were also a few good points like there was Tatasky available with most of the movie channels available, the back door of the room opened towards a beautiful small artificial lake, there was enough furniture to accommodate the luggage.
Property: Beautiful. The resort campus is really nice with several types of plants and trees. However, the management should yet again look into the cleanliness and maintenance. There is enough parking space.
Food: The food served in all the meals was good and felt homely. But I would like to inform all that there is no buffet system in any of the meals. There are limited dishes which the small restaurant prepares for the guests and you have to choose from it. The breakfast had only three varieties of Dosa (and no other dish) with no sambar and only chutney. Breakfast also included a bread-jam and a glass of watermelon juice. The restaurant appeared to be a bit understaffed too. The ala carte menu for lunch was also good with reasonable prices.
Facilities: The resort has a decent pool but I couldn't dare to enter the waters because the water didn't appear to be clean. If the water is cleaned regularly, this can be a very good facility of the resort. No other significant or worth mentioning facility is available at the resort.
Value for Money: I'd give 3/5 for value for money because even though the resort lacked proper maintenance, I had got a good deal so wasn't expecting much from the resort.
Conclusion: I'd like to visit this property again (and also recommend for other travellers) only if the management takes proper steps to improve their service and increase their staff for better hospitality.

Liked:
- Staff was decent, friendly and welcoming.(Mainly Manager Mr. Rajegowda)
- Food was good and included in tariff.
- Not overcrowded place, very few visitors. - So u can relax with proper staff attention,
- 200-300 mtr from resort is a old dam.
Disliked:
- Bathroom was not good and gloomy. - Black granite was all around.
- Room curtains rods were keep falling again and again, also curtains were thin fabric and translucent.
- TV was very small have to struggle to see from bed.
- Rooms were not well maintained like damping marks were there on ceiling.
- AC was not working. (During January it was okay without it)

The positives are Green surroundings... Swimming pool with bore well water.... spacious rooms... Personal attention... tasty food...
Go for it only if you do not have very high expectations. . Finesse expected at this cost is badly missing ...
Good for groups and may be one day stay with your family ...
