Tried to go to here for a beer and possibly dinner the other night. My husband had been in here a few weeks before, in the afternoon at around 4:30, and had a beer. On the night he and my mother and I tried to go, though, we walked through the door and toward a table and were told, in a rather harsh manner, that the pub was not open yet and would open at 5 (this was maybe 4:40). We walked out, but couldn't help wondering why they don't just post their hours on the door? Or why they didn't lock the door until they are open? On this evening, the man and a lady were sitting at one of the tables.

Room was clean and comfortable. Good free breakfast and free parking. I booked via hotels.com but found the hotel description inaccurate in certain respects. Firstly, the WiFi is free, rather than charged as an extra (a good thing). Secondly, the hotel advertised air conditioning but this was absent. I had to sleep with the window open and, as a result, was woken up by flies landing on my face. Not a good start to the day. False advertising. Dishonest.

Although the breakfast fare at most European hotels is quite simple, this one was exceptional. I love a big breakfast, and that is exactly what is served here. The rooms were quite nice, and it was a very convenient location. I was pulling a trailer with a motorcycle so I needed extra room.

We had expected nothing special after reading some of the reviews, and we were not disappointed with our standard room booking. The bad points first: the room was not well cleaned, in fact we suspect it had not been properly cleaned for a while. The bathroom was particularly nasty, I will not go into detail here. The bed was so uncomfortable we found it difficult to sleep, and rose in the morning with many aches. When we complained in the morning, (fortunately the receptionist spoke good English unlike the evening staff) we were surprised to find we had been upgraded to a "comfort room", I would hate to see a standard room...
On a positive note the evening in the restaurant was very good. The food was very tasty and well priced, the beer was great (As you would expect in Bavaria) and service was friendly and attentive.
The breakfast was also very good with an excellent selection of food.
Just a pity about the bedroom, as a restaurant this place is great.

I was initially Booked into this Hotel for 2 nights along with a Party on Business.
On our first night there we all had a wonderful meal served by very friendly staff. Our rooms were Spotless with a nice Balcony looking towards the Village.
Unfortunately I was rushed to Hospital the next day but again the Reception staff were very good organising an ambulance for me and ensuring my comfort until it arrived.
This is an old building with lots of character, but the owners seem to have been able to include the modern amenities we tend to expect so that they blend in seamlessly. The Bar and Restaurant are very rich in character.
Thank you all at Hotel Bergvert for a comfortable stay!
