I had chosen this hotel because it has an indian restaurant. I am a vegetarian and there are better hotels but most of them serve southeast asian cuisines which invariably has meat.
The hotel has a 2 specialty restaurants (indian and korean). The staff is humble and helpful.
About the room:
Bed & Bath linen - bed linen was good but bath linen could have been better
Amenities - tea/ coffee maker, minibar, safe, etc. like any other budget business hotel
View - Superb view of the lake
Cleanliness - good
Though the location is quite good (away from the hustle and bustle of the main city centre) there is a local lake side restaurant which plays loud music through the night. I'm not sure if there was some event or it is a daily affair. But I actually had to call the reception to stop the music because it was way past midnight
The Wifi is TERRIBLE and there's absolutely NO connectivity in the rooms. Most of the guests would come to the lobby to access internet. That's one thing I really disliked about this hotel.
Apart from these 2 issues, there's nothing much to complain about. Overall, a nice budget hotel..

The hotel is reasonably priced.
All room same
They provide good Indian food
Indian chefs understand what we want.
Hotel location is not far from PASAR BARU which is little India.

Valuable cost for 5 star hotel. But, was a bit old style. This hotel is suitable for family. Good location near shopping mall and restaurants. The deluxe room is very spacious. All rooms have great view. The staff was friendly. Looking forward to comeback next time...

We arrived by taxi from SH Airport. We took a silver bird taxi, costing 300.000IR which was pretty expensive for the ride (30km), but we didnât realise there were other taxis (ups!).
The gentlemen at the Sunlake Hotel door helped our with our luggage, we checked in, their English was okay and understandable, and minutes later we entered a beautiful room! 2 double beds for 3 people in total, small balcony, TV, sofa and coffee table, and a bathroom with âwesternâ toilet and a rain shower. The shower was a little dirty, there were hairs stuck on the wall, but overall cleanliness was fine!
We had dinner at silver spoon restaurant: Soto ajam, and 3x Nasi sultan. They were big portions and very tasty! It was a little overpriced (570.000IR), but it was easy and comfortable. The next morning we had a buffet breakfast which had western as well as Indonesian dishes, which was also quite pricey (480.000IR) as we only had two pieces of toast and a coffee!
Overall, it was a pleasant and quick stay, friendly staff, and beautiful decorations!

Things have completely changed for bad in this hotel since last time i was here.
The only reason i choose this hotel is because of spacious room. Nothing else.
The staff in this hotel is extremely bad with very low standards. Tried calling the reception many times and most of times none answer. Even when they answer , will take minutes.
The rooms are spacious but very very dirty. When they come to clean my room they just change bed-sheet and went off . I had to call them back to clean again my room.
Anything you would request , they will simply answer. Sorry , we CANT. Will never book this hotel again.
