Great Place To Relax & Rejoice

Rover_Epicure on 11/10/2017 05:11

Stayed at Sunset Point Resort with a family gathering of 16 and all of us notorious; 5 accommodations for 2 nights.

Their accomodations are well made for couples upto family of four. Rooms are big enough to give you ample space for you to keep your luggage & enough space for extra beds for 2 to 3 more people in the same room.

They do both in-room & restaurant service. Their restaurant has two halls with good seating arrangements. If you go just as a couple or a family, you have buffet where they serve you both veg & non-veg options in all three meals. In addition to the three meals they serve you with two additional tea and yummy snacks, one each in the morning & evening.

We had taken a great package for a large group like ours and they gave us a custom made package with unlimited menu of our choice in Non-veg and veg. They served is red meat, chicken & fish option in each meal. We were on with the ample quantity of each ordered dish they served us. We felt they did justice in serving their customers with ample quantity of each variety they served.

Owner Mr. Pradeep Shah is an excellent human being and a great host. He has ensured that all our requirements were met to our satisfaction.

The place has a sunset point as the resort is named. Sharing some photos taken by me from the sunset point. It's beautiful during monsoons.

The place has a many beautiful unexplored places. There is a waterfall where if the flow is less, you can enjoy dipping in the river.

There is an ancient palace which belongs to a roual Maratha family who still owns it. Though in a bit of shambles, it still has its pride.

Good Room. Good Food

Been there with family and friends. The owner was good and was serving food himself. Whatever we order, they were ready to make and serve. The rate was reasonable. This this best hotel, in this area. Must visit

Beutiful stay

Location: Brilliant location. Probably the best out of outher Jawhar resorts. The Sunset Point is just behind the resort. You can actually see the sunset from room or sitting on the swings. Some of the rooms give you valley view too.

Reaching There: Google map + GPS worked accurately. It's better to download the offline maps. Jawhar to Igatpuri connector is absolutely awesome. Some spots are so so green, that we almost got tired taking pics. You pass by some popular falls as well on this route.

Rooms: Rooms are basic. Double bed, TV, a wooden cupboard, couple of plastic chair and table, AC and a mirror. Our room had a few extra blankets and pillows. Not all light fittings worked, but we had nothing to complain. There was a power cut once - but they had backup.

Food: Brilliant. Absolutely beyond imagination. We travel quite often and have been to many of the attractions around Mumbai - but I have never had such elaborate arrangements. In 2D1N package, we had fish, kebabs, chicken tandoori and lollypop, chilly chicken, mutton, prawns, bhakri, halwa, gulab jamoon. Breakfast had missel pav, bhurji pav, poha, aloo paratha and we were specially offered chichen paratha. Water was clean and from bottles. They did not encourage room service though... but we loved to eat in their restaurant area.

Swimming Pool: They have a nice pool along with a small pool for kids. But water did not seem to be clean when we traveled. Also, a large group had already occupied the pool area. We decided not to step in.

Parking: Plenty of spaces. We actually parked next to our room.

Overall, a nice stay. The resort has places to play football and volleyball. With some more care, one can have a nice time in pool as well. We visited Dabosha from there - about 30 mins drive. There is also a bus stop closeby - and quite a few ATMs.

Decent Place for Monsoon Weekend getway...

Airforce_3 on 27/06/2016 08:12

It's my first visit to Sunset Point Resort in last week of June 2016 along with my family & friends...
I love the resort for it's beautiful location near to Sunset Point & located on the tip of the mountain / Sunset point...
The owner who handles the resort operations is very helpful & understanding when it comes to guest needs & ensures that guest have a pleasant stay... The resort is maintained & rooms are spacious & peaceful... Power failures during monsoon are very frequent but the resort has good generator backup to support essential / minimal components in the room...

One needs to have good GPS system & 4 wheeler to reach resort as there are multiple mountainous terrain roads with NO directions / travellers / villagers on the roads to seek help / assistance. To & Fro Day travel recommended.

Food quality is good with not much of options for food fanatics.
Infant / kids - food / mineral water needs to be carry along with you from home.
Torch / Mosquito repellant cream essential to carry with you due to greenery / location.
Mobile Network in the region is very poor & hardly any connectivity for communication.

Recommended for quick monsoon getaway & long drive.

a place for relaxation

xplore-solitude on 24/10/2015 16:47

The place is ideal for relaxation only. Not much in terms of sight seeing. The connectivity from Mumbai is good (around 140 km by road). The roads are decent once u get of NH8 towards Jawahar. The resort is close to the Sunset Point which provides a beautiful view of the valley and the Sahyadri mountains. The resort is calm and a good place to unwind. The food was quite good and the rooms are decent. The resort premises is quite large and well maintained. The staff was very helpful and courteous.
