When you need to breathe a lungful & reboot your soul, you need to come here. The mild aroma of the tea garden and eucalyptus soothes your respiratory system and the uninterrupted scenery of the rolling tea garden & the blue mountain ranges afar gives you just the right dose of serenity. Its the epitome of peace among nature. You wake upto to chirping of birds, hog on delicious homely meals, feel the warmth of the bonfire in the evening and rejuvenate yourself. You just chill and do nothing. No phones, no laptop, no tv, no loud music; just your fav cup of tea & a great book to read in the balcony overlooking the tea garden.
Take a walk around the aesthetically landscaped property, play games,click on some on your dslr, sit on the porch swing and switch off.
The best way for sight seeing is to stay here and then go on a toy train ride from Coonoor to Ooty.
I would normally review with bullet points for pros & cons; but this place needs the flair of literature.
I just have to mention all the staff here for their exceptional hospitality. I have visited this property earlier and they have expanded over the years; but still is considered to be the top homestay on TripAdvisor. they must be doing something right!

Although Sunvalley operates like a hotel, the warmth of the place and the staff makes it nothing short of a home stay.
We spent 2 weekdays and a weekend there. The property is at the dead end of a pretty densely populated locality, and overlooks the beautiful valleys and tea estates. The rooms are very well appointed and views are amazing. The view from the restaurant is to die for,and so is the food. We enjoyed all our meals there. The taste and quantity of each dish made it totally worth the price.
The staff need a very special mention. They were all extremely friendly, warm and proactive and passionate about what they were doing.
We really enjoyed our walks through the tea estates every day. The pets especially the dogs gave great company.
The place is very close to one of the stations, hence catching the train to ooty is convenient. Also highly recommended is the Ooty mettupalayam train ride which is about 3 hours long.
In our experience, Ooty Conoor is best to visit during weekdays.
We really enjoyed our stay and definitely plan to return to. Sunvalley.

Booked this resort for a weekend. The management was not very welcoming and put lot of restrictions. Stay away from it if you want to chill out with your friends. Did not allow to booze by the campfire which is a very basic thing you expect in any resort/homestay.

it was just BEAUTIFUL!!!..its an awesome place with spectacular surrounding..and not to forget great hospitality !!!..its definitely a 5 star place!! I would STRONGLY recommend !! rooms are clean..bathrooms are very clean..excellent food quality..THE PERFECT holiday premise!!

First of all - what a property, what a view! Just loved it! It was a long weekend and we were 7 families with children of all ages. This was our first time to the resort and it WAS a brilliant choice. Anything under the sun - we asked, we almost got... They gave us the best rates, awesome rooms (Freaking neat by the way), awesome toilets and surprisingly - the most friendliest staff I have seen! We were give a private area of the resort for BBQ for both days. The staff helped throughout and the boys relentlessly bought stuff walking up-hill each time we asked them something to bring, even if it was just a spoon and they were just happy to do it for you. We were quite late to check-in and when we called them, the only advise they gave us - if you require to order food, please do it over the phone, we will keep it ready so that we don't lose time. I really felt this was a 5 star treatment and believe me not many 5 stars do this. These guys provided it relentlessly because its a home-stay and we really felt like we were home. Those 2 nights 3 days just passed by unfortunately but yea we will look definitely to come back. Also we met with the owner and his wife - just few words - GEM OF A COUPLE!
I just have a small suggestion - buffet - would be best if the customers take it from the table rather than have the boys serve buffet especially when there is a crowd. There will be a breather for everyone especially the boys who serve. But hats off to them. Hell of a job guys!
