Having been recommended this pub by friends, my family of 6 decided to give it a try. On entry the car park is located quite a bit away from the pub, not too good when you have disabled elderly family members. Upon entering the staff were very friendly. We had booked a table for a family Sunday carvery, there were 3 meat choices and a selection of veg. Very generous portion of meats, however now comes the gripe. Our meal was quite cold, which we did tell a waiting staff member who did apologise, maybe it was the time we ate (3.45pm)however if the carvery is extended till 5pm the same standard as at the beginning of service should still be the same at the end . I believe it is under new management, and I think with a few tweaks it could be sorted. Lovely view of the river dart though.

Stayed for 2 nights over the weekend. Canât fault this place at all. The staff were very polite, friendly and accommodating. The food and service were excellent (we had dinner both nights too).
The inn is situated on the river dart so itâs a beautiful setting and our room - Dart - had stunning views and a four poster bed which we werenât expecting.
If you are really lucky you will see wild otters from the beer garden. If not you can go to the local sanctuary which is an easy 10 minute walk away. Buckfast Abbey is also within easy reach.
We had a great time and will definitely go back soon.

Lovely, couldn't fault this place although we only stayed the one night.the room was clean and well appointed.The staff were very friendly and helpful which always goes a long towards making you feel relaxed. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for two weeknights in a single room to the rear of the property. The room had everything you would need - small kettle, tea, coffee, bottle of mineral water, soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hair towel, bath sheet.
The best bit for me was having the river Dart outside the window - lovely!
Staff are polite and locals, friendly.
I didnât have dinner there but it is available. Breakfast was nice and hot (full English) with cereal and orange juice if you want it. Breakfast is early (between 8 and 9) .
Warning - the fire alarm is tested at 10am and is very sensitive so donât spray your deodorant underneath it as one alarm sets off every other alarm in the building!
You could walk to the abbey in 5 mins from here and the local shops are also off the same road. Itâs in the Dartmoor national park - right on the edge so ideally placed to access any and everywhere.
Iâd stay here again.

Not child friendly. Came away feeling very dissapointed as the landlady had shouted at my 2 year old grandson when he walked behind the bar....no politeness or friendly guidance towards him. The waitress was lovely however!
